A help request already - Pronovias stockists Lincs/Cambs

Hawk, 7 May, 2011 at 11:20 Posted on Planning 0 5

I found my dress in Ireland whilst visiting my family, it's a pronovias dress and I won't be able to go back and forth to Ireland for the fittings. Does anyone know of any pronovias stockists in the South Lincs/Peterborough area?

I went on the official pronovias site and the one they suggested isn't open anymore and google isn't being much help so I thought I'd ask here first.

I'd like the shop to be able to keep hold of my dress and to do the fittings.

    Hi Hawk

I notice your new so welcomeSmiley smile

Can you not buy the dress you saw in Ireland and bring it back and gave it altered locally.

I bought my dress in a similar timescale to you but I also took it to be altered locally, its worked out a much more reasonable price than bridal shop.

Thanks for replying and I'm not sure I was clear, I've bought the dress in Ireland (well Dad has) and when it comes in my parents are going to collect it and bring it over, I didn't know if I should find a stockist to do the alterations and I hadn't even considered a normal seamstress, so thank you.

Hi, oh thats good - glad you bought it - i would go to a local seamstress, the shop i bough my dress wanted to charge 300 starting price for basic alterations, only getting charged 75 by local girl. The funny thing is shee alters dresses for bridal shops, they send it to her to be altered, not my shop but other ones x

    Thanks for the replies everyone.

I was worried I wouldn't find a shop to do it for the reasons enterflora mentioned, so local seamstress would be good.

agentblackcat, doesn't suprise me that dress shops send the dresses out to be altered, they want as much money as they can get. I know my drycleaner uses a fantastic seamstress, she took up a gown for me a few months back.
