We had a hotel wedding, just at a Holiday Inn so nothing too fancy. We chose hotel over a pub because we had family and friends that were travelling along way. Friends of ours had a small pub wedding and we all had a fantastic day.

Can you think of anywhere within the Newcastle/Durham area? x

    Not my area I'm afraid.

Have you tried searching Google? Just a quick search of Village Hall Durham brings up quite a few?

It would be a case of looking at each one or just giving them a quick call to enquire about prices for weddings.

Here are a few pub venues that we considered for our wedding, but didn't get around to visiting in the end:

Paochers Cottage, Callerton (nr Newcastle Airport)
    Lion & Lamb, Horsley
    South Causey Inn, Stanley
Chilton Country Pub, Houghton le Spring
    Angel View Inn, Gateshead
    Kingslodge, Durham

We held our evening reception at The Central pub in Gateshead which was great, though not sure how well it would work for a daytime unless you were having a fairly small do.

Of course there are loads of pubs with function rooms to hire too, and the local clubs are often a good cheap option. Hope some of this helps anyway ?

The South Causey Inn is worth a look - we were there last weekend and were impressed by it Smiley smile Some of the colleges in Durham are available to hire as well, worth looking into
