A quick poll, Choc Fountain or Sweetie Buffet ?

niche79, 1 April, 2010 at 14:59 Posted on Planning 0 16

As the title says really.

We currently have a chocolate fountain booked with our venue but they are charging us a ridiculous £450 for it and if we get an external supplier they charge a £200 site fee so would be no cheaper anyway. Whilst I do really like them I am wondering if it is worth that money so we are thinking of going for a sweetie buffet instead with the evening food.

Costs aside, as a guest at a wedding which would you prefer ladies ??

Thanks

Chocolate fountain for me, but I'm not keen on eating lots of sweets.

The problem is how messy a fountain could get, esp if there are alot of children...molton chocolate + white dress = potential disaster

Sweets would probably be cheaper & less mess.

Sorry, thats probably not much help!

Sweets for me. Have been to wedings where people have to queue for teh fountain and then are only alloed x number of things to dip, which i think makes it look a bit stingy. Also there is the mes factor. But at the end of the day if you have booked it you obviously want it so go with what you want.

Sweets definitely! We're having one ? Also, aren't choc fountains 1/3 oil or something? That put me off when I heard that!

I am a confirmed chocolate lover.... BUT after going to a wedding last year that had a chocolate fountain, I have to say that I would chose the sweetie table over the fountain.

The mess was unbelievable from the chocolate fountain.. It got even worse when people had got a few drinks down them. My dress got choc spilt down it, its pretty hard not to do.

Neither. i've never understood sweets at a wedding tbh.......

i'd much prefer free bags of nuts and nibbles to go with my champers/wine etc....
