A welcome/info sign for evening guests?

teeheeyoucrazyguys!, 14 April, 2009 at 15:21 Posted on Planning 0 4

Naff? or useful?

The OOS has a running order to the day on the back but when the evening guests arrive they dont know when the buses home are.....or that we are leaving. Infact no one really knows we are leaving and didnt know whether to announce that???

didnt know whether to make something to replace the table plan....

or shall I quit whilst I'm ahead?

I don't think I would bother hunni. I am sure that most of them will assume the buses will leave at the end of the reception - are you having a band/dj? If so just get them to announce when the buses are leaving - they could also mention that you are leaving too.

    Hey teehee

Nope, quit whilst you're ahead. No need to let the evening guests know. As said, the DJ can make announcements. If you're planning to leave before your guests, then why not arrange for your guests to make a 'corridor' of sparklers to walk through. Ask the DJ to ask guests to gather by the main door to wave you goodbye. You then need your BM's and ushers to be there with sparklers and lighters and organise everyone to get into two lines for you to walk through. It's a great cheap way for everyone to say good bye to you and then it's also their que that the party will be coming to an end soon. The DJ can then announce once you've gone that the coaches will be leaving in 30 mins etc.

    But i'm scared of sparklers!!!!!!

nice idea though...... once they see us all changed into our 40s finery they'll realise we're skiddaddling....

ok no signage/info required thats cool.... i'll get the band to announce us or summat and the day guests will have informed the evening guests about bus times...... coolio.

    thank you peeps!

I've done a variety of different exits for the bride.....getting all guests in a circle for a final song then forming an archway to the door is just one idea...the guests are kept fully aware by announcements so no need for anything else.

Worth trusting your DJ to care of keeping your evening guests informed......we are very used to doing this kind of thing and we have lots of ideas and options up our sleeve. Most DJs will ask you what song you want to exit to.

Lolol they do?? wonder if they know 'we'll meet againnnnnnn....'

seriously then maybe I should consider it. The band pack up at 11 and put on their disco for the last hour and we are leaving shortly after, (depends on how long it takes to say goodbye to everyone)

ok a leaving track - you've planted that seed.....
