a year to go celebrations?

I got flowers from my FH and we went out for a meal and drinks. We’re getting married on our anniversary though so we’d have done something either way I think. x

When we had 1 year to go we both had covid - we celebrated by booking our venue! At that point we knew what we wanted but hadn’t booked yet as we had a couple more venue viewings lined up for that week, but when we got covid we decided to just lock in the booking so we didn’t miss out on the date we wanted, as we knew we wouldn’t be able to re-book the other viewings for at least a couple more weeks.

Hi Leah. We are going to have a bbq with both sets of immediate families and our bridal party and groomsmen with their partners so they can all meet. We got engaged near our anniversary aswell so we will go out for a meal on that day to celebrate then the bbq a year until our wedding.

We didn't do anything for our 1 year to go. My FH was actually at a gig with his mates on that day. But I didn't mind as we had already had an engagement party and I didn't feel we needed to do anything big on the 1 year to go marker.

I have had a bridesmaid gathering and we have had dinner with both sets of parents at other points, but not on any significant day.
