Accommodation

Jordan, 21 December, 2020 at 11:44 Posted on Planning 0 1
Hey! So I have a question about accommodation, I’m so confused! Background is I have a lot of family (my dads side lives a few hours away) and people will need accommodation. The venue we love has no accommodation - I was thinking of hiring for 3 days like a little holiday house nearby for me and my bridesmaids the night before (to get ready etc) and then for me and my partner to come back that night after the wedding. My question is are we expected to have accommodation for family? Like fathers and mothers of the bride and groom nans, aunties etc.. I mean half our parents can technically go home as they live near but obviously the others can’t! Can I just recommend hotels for them and they sort them self out? Was planning for people to come to the holiday house for a bbq the next day like close family and friends etc. Ideally a venue with loads of rooms would have been perfect but we have fallen in love with the one we are looking at! Any other traditions that should be done for friends and family? I’m such a people pleaser I don’t want to miss anything out!

You’re not expected to provide accommodation for anyone!

Best thing to do is get a room block/discount rate at a nearby hotel, maybe do 2 (cheaper place & more expensive place), then give this info to your guests so they can book.
My venue does have accommodation for people to rent, so I’ve put all the info with prices on my wedding website.
