Acrylic Nails - Do you do your own infills?

clairegwen, 18 June, 2008 at 09:22 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 1

Do you wear acrylic nails and do or would you do your own infills? Is it easy?

I'm just wondering about this, as I was browsing on fleabay and I was surprised to see just how cheap the powder/acrylic is. You can buy a set with everything you need for about a fiver. I know it would take time/be fiddly/difficult to do one hand, but just wondering whether to give it a go or not. My nails need redoing after about 10 days but I can't afford to have them done that regularly.

Is it worth me trying this or is it a definate no no?

TIA

My friend is trained to do acrylic nails and she does her own and they look fine so I'm sure it's perfectly possible, I can imagine doing your 'wrong' hand would be hard work though. You would need to buy the same stuff as your nail techinician uses otherwise there could be variations in the colour. I've watched nails being done loads and i'm sure I could do them too

There is no way I'd be able to do my own nails, I can just about manage to paint my toes using 2 hands let alone paint my fingernails using 1 hand. I'm rubbish.

I'd rather a professional do it.
