Advice Needed re: Candle Table Centres!

Amethyst, 22 January, 2010 at 11:50 Posted on Planning 0 7

I really want something like Moroccan lanterns as our table centres. And possibly also one on the bar and on the registrars table. I bought one from eBay to try it out . It looks amazing with a candle in but the actual lantern gets quite hot. Not hot enough to burn but hot like a radiator I guess. I'm now worried they would be a health hazard and when the venue is clearing them away they won't be able to pick them up until they have cooled down. My OH thinks I am worrying too much.

Anyway what do you think - am I worrying unnecessarily about them getting too hot to pick up? This is the sort of thing I mean though the once I have is 40cm high:

TIA!

Hi there we filmed a wedding recently and they had very similar lanterns on all their tables as centre pieces with flowers round them - the hotel staff there didn't have a problem with them so you should be fine as with anything that could be hot the venues generally know what they are doing, remember they have to deal with many different table centre pieces and themes - they're experienced in what they do! Don't stress and your centre pieces will look fantastic. ?

Thank you for the reassurance guys! I am being a daftie. We are going to experiment with different candle lengths too. I just need to order 14 more and work out where I can put them in our tiny 1 bed flat! Good job they are so pretty...

    Heya,

Have you consider LED tea lights to go inside instead of real candles?
We are having these as our venue won't allow real candles, but I want the same kind of effect.

They don't get hot, and obviously aren't a health hazzard. ?
