Advice on invoicing a company in administration

Clairy, 16 of January of 2009 at 17:23 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 6

Adams (the childrenswear shop) owes my business several hundred pounds. It was their Hull branch that booked the advert, but they have since announced they are going into administration. However, they are not closing all the shops, and the Hull one is to remain open.

Any idea on what I should do? I have invoiced in the usual way, but the email address of my contact at Head Office is just bouncing...

Send a copy to the administrator with a covering letter.

Thanks Nick, that's what I thought. I was just confused about them still trading locally. Their marketing is co-ordinated centrally though.

How can you go into administration and still run some branches?

(no worries if you haven't the time or inclination to explain this now, btw. Being the Hitched recession expert must be a pain in the arse at times ?)

Being in administration doesnt mean they cant trade. it means that the administrators are actively trying to find a buyer for some or all the stores and if they do, then it ll be refinanced. or they may be selling bits off, and then liquidate it. however youre unlikely to be paid tbh.

Very little chance I'd say. Rob Hunt at PWC in Birmingham is this administrator (this time).

Sorry I agree with Nick - you're very unlikely to receive payment

Maybe you should get payment prior to the advert being printed (sorry if you already do this)
