Affordable Wedding Venues Nottinghamshire/Derby

Tishab90, 26 of March of 2013 at 18:38 Posted on Planning 0 24

Hi all....

Very recently got engaged and have been looking towards my home town for venues for the wedding.

Ideally we would like somewhere where we can have the wedding and reception all in one place, but due to large family and a fairly little budget we are struggling finding somewhere affordable but lovely.

any ideas on venues would be lovely

Many Thanks

5000 for venue. Which would need to be wedding breakfast for at least 80. And evening buffet for 150.

Amount if people is the trouble we are having really

Have a look at Alfreton Hall. We had more people than you and I'm sure our quote for there wasn't much more than that. Was a couple of years ago though.

The Univeristy of Nottingham is really reasonable. There is a minimum spend and you get the venue for free. My wedding recpetion is there in 7 weeks time

Donington park farmhouse hotel. We paid £4000 for a wedding for 80 guests plus BBQ and an evening buffet. The food is from their farm too.

Hiya, I'm ilkeston. I've been too Morley Hayes, Horsley Lodge, Risley Hall, Risley park, Rufford mill, and the gateway hotel. We are getting marries at donnington parkfarmhouse hotel, but also went to look at swancar farm, blackbrook house, goosedale hall and breadsall priory. Some of these were out of our budget but I just emailed for brochures before going to look. Ours is a good price. Were having 50 sit down dinner, 100 at night, reception drinks, meal and toasts and evening food for 3750. Good luck!

Many thanks for all of your great ideas,

We really liked Risley when we went, it was a very friendly atmosphere, whereas when we went to Donnington farm house we didnt feel it to be as friendly and as welcoming.

Really like the look of The Maynard arms, I'm hoping we can go and see that venue this weekend, very excited about that one.

I'm also at Swancar Farm later on this year.

Dependant on the time of year/day of the week you wanna get hitched, you might find something in your budget.

We went for a Thursday wedding and its SO much cheaper Smiley smile

Hi, I just want to say I am in a very similar situation we recently got engaged and all the venues I have been looking at for 80 day and 120 evening were around the £8000 mark which was just too much, a lot of the places suggested are lovely and much more affordable so thank you. Also the Maynard is a dog friendly hotel and it is me and my fiances dream to have our little pupster at the wedding with us ?
