Altering Multiway Dresses

Michelle, 26 April, 2023 at 12:17 Posted on Wedding Attire 0 2

Hi all

Has anyone else used multiway dresses for their bridesmaids and had them altered? We had everyone round to try on their multiway dresses and unfortunately for two of the girls they were way too long.

I'm not really sure how to go about altering them as they just need a few inches taking off the bottom but everyone isn't local to me. Just after some advice on how other people went about this

Thanks xx

    I agree with Melissa.

I would suggest the bridesmaids take the dresses to their local tailor. You could then reimburse the charge, if you were offering to pay. Altering the hemline is a relatively simple alteration and should be easy to find a tailor capable.

Yes, many people have used multiway dresses for their bridesmaids and have had to get them altered. One option would be to find a local tailor in each bridesmaid's area and have them get the alterations done there. You can provide the tailor with instructions on how much length needs to be taken off and the desired hemline.

Another option would be to have the bridesmaids send their dresses to a central location, such as your home or a trusted friend or family member's home, and then WyndhamRewards have them altered there before sending them back. This would require some coordination and communication between you and the bridesmaids, but it could be a good solution if you don't want to rely on finding a tailor in each area.

It's also worth noting that some multiway dresses are designed to be cut to the appropriate length by the wearer, so you may want to double-check the instructions or contact the manufacturer to see if this is an option.
