Alternative to Bridesmaids Posies

My sister will be having a wrist corsage instead of a posy. Have you considered silk flowers? Lots cheaper.

When i was bridesmaid for my sister i had a little silk posy to carry, proved quite useful to store tissues and lipstick in too x

These are mine - the one with 3 flowers, not the individual one.

Do they have to be posies - might 1 or 3 stems of one flower be cheaper? I was thinking like gerberas or somesuch

My friend had her flower girls holding a little white tin heart, they were absolutely gorgeous. Cost a couple of quid each, she even bought my daughter one so she didn't feel left out.

That's what I've gone for and it's much cheaper.

I am having adults have wrist corsages. If you have young BMs / Flowergirls consider hoops or wands as an alternative.

I really like the idea of wrist corsages for the adult bridesmaids but what would they do with their hands?!!

Um... they would stay on the end of their arms.... ?

seriously though - they will just walk down, they could hold their hands in front of them anyway, or just keep them by their sides. Just don't make a thing about their hands and they won't think about ti and then it will befine!! It only becomes awkward when you start to think about their hands, but people walk places every day with hands and no flowers....

I was originally going to have matching clutch bags for my BM's

I have chose 2 large silk rose wands for my 2 BM's as they are practical and won't get in the way or take away from their dresses.

What you think of this

I don't know what other flowers you are having but I have seen BMs with 1-3 calla lilys which look lovely and I assume cheaper although have no idea how much calla lilies cost!

Thank you for all of the replies, I love the idea of the rose wand and also maybe just carrying a single flower.

Yesterday I contacted one of the floristst that I got a quote from and she was so helpful and understanding of me trying to keep costs down. She suggested the bridesmaids carry 3 Avalanche roses instead of posies. She sent me pictures which i'll try and post later and they look gorgeous, not too much but just enough.
