Alternative to speeches/wedding breakfast

Second marriage for both of us. Need some inspiration. Having our wedding a a lovely hotel with gorgeous gardens and big terrace. Want to do something really different. Do t really want traditional speeches by the usual, or even anything more than one speech, but wanted to do something unusual. Also don’t really want a three course meal, so something sitting down but not a three course meal. Heeellllpppp xx

Time of year would be a big factor big terrace sounds like a BBQ to me ? also maybe a joint thankyou speach by the two of you together but not sat down - do it on the terrace.

We have skipped the 3 course wedding breakfast too and replaced with a 100 guest hog roast, but still with table plans. This will be buffet so more relaxed. We have still paid to have canapés first and have outside caterers then providing waffle cones. Later in the evening we’ve asked for chip butties and sausage/bacon baps to soak up all that alcohol, haha. It’s all very informal! X
