Alternative Wedding Dress

Jessica, 10 of September of 2023 at 19:48 Posted on Wedding Attire 1 15
Hello I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on where I could go to find a black wedding dress. I don’t want a traditional white wedding & set on the dress being black. Any other goth/alt gals found any black dresses in the U.K.?

Try shops that sell evening wear/formal wear.

Try dress shops in prom season, they'll have all the colours in, and they'll be cheaper Smiley smile

The gothic shop has an amazing black wedding dress. It comes from the Netherlands and they may say what the manufacturer is called.

I was at the Wedding Show recently and "Hannah Black Bridal" specialises in Black wedding dresses. Good luck with the search.

I think it depends if you want an actual black wedding dress or if you're happy to go down the prom dress route as that would be miles cheaper and a lot easier to find a dress than going through bridal boutiques.

there are some bridal designers who do Black wedding dresses like Louise Bentley (£2,600 I was quoted when I enquired) or LouLou bridal. someone mentioned Hannah Black Bridal which are lovely but again range between 2K-3K depending on what you want.

for some reason Black or any other coloured dresses cost a lot more than a 'traditional' white wedding dress (it was queen Elizabeth II who made wearing white as a wedding dress popular when she married Philip in 1947 before that a lot of woman wore coloured dresses) so again a lot of brides choosing an alternative dress go down the prom dress route to give themselves more options.

I am glad someone had a positive experience with Stacee's because their reviews are awful, so I didn't go with them in the end. a lot of online retailers who offer black wedding dresses say they are based in the UK but they are not, so I would just suggest reading reviews for places on trust pilot before jumping in with ordering online, personally.

hope you find something you love Smiley smile
