Am i invited to the ceremony and evening only?

I've just received an invitation to a wedding, and I'm not sure what to make of it. (I've never been to a wedding before!)

The invitation mentions the ceremony at the church, but then states "followed by a reception at x... Drinks and dancing to follow."

Have I been invited to the whole day, or only the ceremony and evening?
Thankful of any advice given, as I want to avoid any embarrassment on the day!

    I would say is the whole thing as mentions both ceremony and reception. So you are there for the marriage, wedding breakfast (meal) and then evening. If you really not sure then just ask the couple

    I would definitely say both, as I have only put the location of the day on those I want to come to the day and then night time guests just has where the reception is x

    Definitely both, a lot of invites come with the 'followed by drinks and dancing' as standard for an all day invitation

    Just to add though, I have been invited to a wedding where we were welcome at the church for the ceremony, not for the wedding breakfast, then to the reception. Is the ceremony at a church?

    Just seen you said church. Some people open that bit up to everyone and still have only a select few for the meal 🤷🏻‍♀️
