Annoying FB status updates UPDATED!

I want to gouge out my eyes with a rusty spoon when people update their status everyday with a countdown to something or other. Arrrrgh!

I have a friend who updates hers regular to say 'H is fab', 'H is great', 'H is brill'. Why would you big yourself up like that ? Or often after a few hours she just adds a full stop so her status is updated.

Trawling through FB atm to find some for you. I find status messages quite annoying anyway, I'm both very nosey and very stubborn. It will drive me crazy wanting to know what a status message refers to, but I'm loath to ask.

We found out my BiL and SiL were breaking up via facebook statuses. Staggering.

I feel the same way. It really bugs me that some people deliberately make it cryptic because they want people to be all, 'ooooh, what does that mean, then?' Attention seekers.

Oh god. That would be my worst nightmare. I just don't get what is wrong with sending a message, rather than putting it on a status update, or on the wall (as was) Or waiting until something was settled before telling everyone things.

I've just added a load of new uni friends, and they all use text speak. Its like learning another language. ANd some now have this heart thing. I want to know how to do it, but at the same time I don't!

I found out that my sister was engaged via her FB status ?

I have one friend who writes the tiniest detail of her life and finishes it with "x"s all the time "Fiona is running a bath now xx" "Fiona is wondering what to have for tea xx" etc

N needs to pay more attention to her spelling and punctuation. 21.43pm

Some of the ones I have seen just remind me I have no life ? Especially at the weekend. Everyone (well not quite everyone) is out having a life.

There are a few who are obviously wanting you to ask what they mean - but I don;t bother.

The attention seeking bugs me immensely too. The other one that really annoys me is when people don't 'get' the way the status message should be phrased.

Very annoying indeed. I have a friend who does this all the time, and always aimed at her ex. However she is quite young so...

What I want to know is why the "youngsters" talk/write like this:

You see, for me, that isn't annoying at all. Witty and factual.

I have a couple of people who do the whole "cryptic status" thing, it's like hearing only half a conversation!

Oh - I've said this before, but I know a couple who were having an affair and their statiiiiiiiii were always 'subliminal' messages to each other such as:

N is shocked but also aroused.... (yuck!)

I love red hair, I'm dark brown but it runs in my family (my brother's ginger) I always joke to Mr Mwnci in mock outrage that mini Mwncis will be ginger but really I'm quite hoping they will be.

That is so wrong, but also a bit funny. The thing I don't understand is when I've been very upset I've not wanted everyone to know about it and certainly not ther person who caused me to feel that way.

Well you know I'm not sure we have jobs as exciting as that.

Well timed thread, I was just reading through my friends' status updates and realised that one of them is always putting "X loves her husband and/or baby sooooooo much", which I find annoying.

Most status updates don't annoy me though and I like reading them as I'm a nosey caaah. I'm sure some of my updates would probably irritate a lot of you, I have occasionally done the cryptic thing but never so that anyone will ask me what it's about, usually it's because I just want to vent.
