Hi guys

when a SW recipe says Chicken stock(made with Bovril)

do they just mean Bovril or a Chicken Stock cube with Bovril too.

I'm very confused

I think stock cubes used to be syns, so stock had to be made with Bovril or the veggie equivalent which is Vecon (a spoonful of Bovril topped up with boiling water). Recently, stock cubes became free, so you can replace any reference to Bovril with Oxo cubes or the like.

Have you been reading the Northerner's version of the SW book?! Bovril always reminds me of my trips to Manc!
