I am applying for a renewal of my passport (surname change) and am having problems with the countersignature part. I am including new photographs as the old ones are super old and they don't really hold much resemblance anymore. I have asked my colleague (a professor) to sign but she has only known me for 18 months. The rules state 2 years. The few suitable people I have known for 2years+ don't have valid uk passports so I am in a bit of a pickle! My GP/dentist won't sign either. Will I be okay since its only a renewal? Don't want to spend £80 and have the application rejected..
