Any recommendations for cheap venues in Surrey?

Well our wedding cost £10k excluding the honeymoon but including everything else - venue, catering, drink, dress, suit hire, florist, photographer, stationery although we did save by borrowing our cars, I made the stationery and H made the table centrepieces.

Our venue was Farnham Castle - www.farnhamcastle.co.uk and costs have gone up since last year but we paid £3k for venue hire exclusive use, £50 per head 3 course meal, £13 per head evening buffet and about £800 for drinks. No it isn't cheap, but I promise you our wedding cost under £10k.

We also saw Barnett Hill (south of Guildford); the Hilton at Cobham (on the A3); Clandon House (just outside Guildford); Holiday Inn at Farnborough.

Ours is in Surrey and our entire wedding is costing around £12k

Our venue (ceremony and reception) has minimum numbers of 60 on a saturday so thats what were having and probably no extra evening guests

Its costing just over £6000 for our package, that includes:

ceremony and reception rooms

arrival drink + canapes

bbq, desert, coffee

wine, water, fruit juice with meal

cava for toast

pedestal and table flowers

evening buffet

bridal suite with fruit basket

1st anniversary dinner, bed and breakfast

Works out to be £95 per head

We also get exclusive use of the venue and are able to have all 18 bedrooms for a discounted rate of £1600

As you can see we have altered the gold package to suit us, they are extremely flexible

Have you tried the Georgian House Hotel in Haslemere, their prices are very reasonable.

Just a few thoughts as most around here are extortionate, but how about hiring somewhere nice, maybe a country pub or clubhouse somewhere ?

A few that come to mind are The Molesey boat club (overlooking the Thames), Lord Hotham pub in Ockham, Black Swan in Ockham, or possibly The Parrot Inn at Forest Green near Dorking. https://www.theparrot.co.uk/

Most hotels are too expensive, but the odd few are cheaper...
