any reviews for honypie boutique?

honeysparkle, 16 March, 2012 at 12:43 Posted on Planning 0 17

Bit of a long shot but has anyone ordered anything form them before and what's the quility and service like?

I had originally ordered form queen of holloway but they buggered up my order so it's been canceled (sp) I love the 50's style dresses but I'm really struggling to find what I want for my miniscual budget. Everytime I find something there's hardly any reviews or they're bad or the make time is too long... you get the idea it's just one thing or another.

101days to go and I have the choice of a dress I don't feel comfortable in or my trusty jeans. Everyone at my wedding is going to look so much nicer than me. Really feel like [:'(]

I haven't used them, sorry. But I just wanted to wish you good luck in your dress search as you don't seem to be having much of it!

Have you tried Cutting Edge Brides? (Can't remember the address but google it, you'll find them.) Not sure how big your budget is BUT ring them up and see if they have any samples they can sell you. I can't remember the lady's name but she was very helpful when I was looking for a dress (although I decided on traditional long style in the end).

I havent used them but wanted to offer some sort of help....perhaps highstreet could be the answer - quick delivery which would leave time for alterations? After a quick searched i've found these....

The HOF one is not too bad. I've just found with highstreet and bm dresses they don't have such full skirts.?

Still give them a ring though, as she had samples for the same price as a Honeypie dress when I went ?

    Thanks ladies

Lyla those are lovely but I don't think I'll have the time to wait for them. 10wk make time plus postage is cutting it fine with only 14wks left.

Cookiekat thanks for the links i've seen the voh ones before they're nice but I'm not keen on the halter neck style. However some of the fairy goth mother one are gorgeous. Have you used this company at all.

I'm glad to know someone has brought from honeypie still not sure weather to bite the bullet i'm so fed up with being disapointed. Was hoping for something max £200 for dress and petticoat really ? big ask I know

I've not personally but one of the girls at work has brought loads from them. They have a shop in London if you wanted to go try stuff on.

Honeysparkle - I remembered I had saved a seller on ebay and here it is:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UK-short-1950s-60s-vintage-style-white-ivory-wedding-bridal-dress-ball-gown-yb8-/160528609087?pt=UK_Women_s_Dresses&hash=item2560402f3f#ht_7395wt_902

They sell other tea length and 50s style dresses too but I thought I would let you know about them as they have 100% feedback and seem to have some lovely dresses.

    Hope it helps!

    YES!!

I ordered a Lauren and it totally exceeded all my expectations! I ordered the dress then the petticoat a few months later. They are beautiful dresses and I had really good communications with them. I can't wait to wear my dress - I tried on all the traditional long white dresses and they totally weren't me, but trying on everything all together (I also ordered a sash) I felt so much more bridal than I had in anything else! Because it was all made to measure I don't need any alterations which is fab, and it all fits so well. Service was really good - when I said I was hoping to try it on on a particular weekend (it was being delivered to my mum's 200 miles away) when I was going back home, they sped up postage for me! Packaging wasn't great (it came in a bag!) but I paid a bit extra for special delivery and it was all fine.

Hope that helps! Hope I don't look like a spammer (I'm more of a lurker than a poster) but I just wanted to recommend them! I did the same plea on a couple of forums before I bought mine and no joy so just had to take a punt - definitely worth it! Just get your bms to help with the measuring to check, check and double check!
