Any suggestions for a hen weekend in Brighton?

Erin8, 4 January, 2014 at 21:34 Posted on Planning 0 7

I am having my hen do in Brighton in early May and l need to start planning it. There is probably going to be 10-12 of us and l am trying to find a large house or 2 flats where we can stay. The ones l have found are too far away in Hove. I am thinking afternoon tea would be fun, is there anywhere specific worth going to? Any other recommendations about bars / pubs / clubs would be great thanks.

Lola Lo's down the lanes is pretty good for just cheesy dancing... lucky voice for a karaoke hire room type thing, the thistle often do a tea and cake offer on groupon.. i'd lend you my house to stay in for the weekend but then i'd have no where to go, plus not enough beds, lol... oceana's is pretty good, they have an Adonis cabaret show if you like that kind of thing, I've not been but it's meant to be a laugh. also I've seen there are a few places that do pole dancing lessons, or just a dance class.. they fix you up with a routine that you all learn and ten perfume at your wedding for the other guests... X

    My hen was in Brighton.

we went for afternoon tea at Metrodeco, then went on the pier for rides then fish n chips, then just to a bar.

then on the Saturday, we did an assault course, followed by an evening at proud cabaret.

    it was AWESOME

Organised my best mate's hen in Brighton. We stayed in a place from this site: http://www.brightonholidayhomes.co.uk/properties/ (Middle Street) - there were 18 of us and it worked out at about 100pp for 3 nights so it was pretty good. We got in a big shop so food and drinks were cheap. We ate at a really decent, cheap and slightly weird restaurant called Little Bay. they're a small chain and they do opera singing while you eat. After a few drinks it was a LOT of fun (and only about £11 for a 3-course meal). We also went to the park and had a picnic, games etc. which was fun. I would say that Brighton is pretty walkable and the public transport is pretty good so don't worry too much about being somewhere specific. We had a drink at the Mesmerist which was OK (50s musict hat night) but in July had no air con and was SO hot we had to leave. We ended the night in a cheesy gay club. Awesome.

I went on a Hen Do end of November and we stayed in a house on New England Street. It was a 5 - 10 minute walk to the pier. It had a big Sainsburys right by it with coffee shops and take away food places. There was a big car park 1 minute walk away for everyone to park in which wasnt too expensive especially if you car share. There was about 15 of us and it was great all being in the same house. Most of us had rooms but 3 people had to sleep in the lounge. What was great was we were all in the same place so we got there opened up the champagne and could chill for an hour before heading out for our events. Later we had dinner there to reduce the cost of the w/e. I would also suggest cocktail making. We had a great time doing that. We did it in Bar (76) Club in the afternoon and then ended up going back there after seeing the Dreamboys as we had free entry because we had done the cocktail making. It was a really nice atmosphere in there and the staff made it such a fun day.

Hope this helps and gives you some ideas. Smiley smile
