I'm sorry I can't remember whom it is, sorry!

I just wanted to ask is Calmex for Cats a prescription only medicine? Or is there two types. My vets said it was prescription only but have found it on the internet a lot cheaper but it says it isn't a presciption medicine. We are getting through a bottle a week here so def could do with a cheaper version?

I'm a veterinary nurse if that helps

Calmex is classed a a complementary feed or food supplement so should be widely available and doesn't require a prescription from your vet.

We don't stock it where I work but we used to. I don't think it's prescription only. If you have a packet of it look on it for something like 'POM-V" (veterinary prescription only)

If it says something like "GSL" then it's general sale so can be brought without prescription. If it has nothing like this on the pack then you should be able to get it without prescription.

the only one I know of is made by VetPlus. If you decide to buy online then please be careful where you get it from, sadly there are some people out there who will put all sorts into products that are sold online.
