Anyone booked their venue without seeing it?

Did anyone else book their venue without seeing it first?
Our destination wedding was covid cancelled last year so we had to rearrange for a uk one, and there was ‘limited availability’ for the registrars on the date we wanted so we booked our venue without seeing it as obviously everything has been shut.

Anyway, we finally got to see what we booked yesterday, and we are in love with it!
I was just wondering if anyone else took a similar kind of gamble with places not doing viewings for so long?

Yep, exactly what we did. Luckily we also loved it when we eventually visited. I generally don't like to gamble, but I think it paid off 😊

Yes, we did this too. We got engaged at Christmas and wanted to marry this summer, but the country obviously went into lockdown at the beginning of Jan. We knew that if we waited until lockdown lifted it would be too late to get a wedding arranged for this summer, so we did a couple of online viewings, and one place in particular looked fab. It has a great reputation locally, we read and heard lots of reviews and scouted photographer blogs who had shot there before to see how weddings looked there (the photographer we ended up choosing actually shot a 'Covid' wedding there with 15 people in December, so we were even able to see how the venue had done such a small wedding) and we decided to just go for it! So glad we took the risk as when we finally got to see it in April we loved it, we've been back a few times for our menu tasting and planning meetings and are so so excited to get married there. Definitely worth the leap of faith!

Yep, we booked a brand new venue without seeing it and with only CG images as it was still a building site! Absolutely loved it once we could finally get in to see it in person, I even got a little emotional when I went in for the first time, and it was still a little building site like as the full handover hadn't happened at that point. Cant wait to get married there in October.

Hi ladies! Could I get the name of your venues? I have been killing myself looking at venues for a wedding this year and need advice! I’m American and live in London but, looking to marry at a fab Manor House or castle in the south east somewhere in the country, thanks!

I also did this! We got £500 off if we put down a £100 deposit and we loved the venue so we booked it after a virtual viewing. Have since been able to view in person and we love it so very happy with our decision

We kinda did this, we did a virtual viewing and then put a deposit down for the date we wanted as they were booking quick. We officially booked it once we'd seen it in person and we're so in love with it!

They would have refunded the deposit if we hadn't want to go for it which made it much easier to put the money down.
