Anyone else getting a mixed-sex civil partnership?

We are also doing this! I floated the idea out to family and friends before we got engaged. All I got was positive responses, maybe one or two who said they wouldn't personally do it, but they supported our views anyway.

Neither of us are religious and don't agree with the traditional connotations of marriage like 'ownership' etc. Ultimately do what makes you happy

Hi! We are also practicing it and feel very happy. It is important to remember that your relationships are your relationships and only you can set rules. If you both feel happy it doesn't matter what others say. Our relatives don't understand us, but it doesn't worry us.
