Anyone had someone in to paint their exterior wooden windows?

Emmark, 5 June, 2009 at 10:03 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 4

My wooden windows are in much need of some painting on the exterior. I am going to be getting a few companies out to quote, but just wanted a rough idea of how much people have paid for there windows to be painted?

I know this varies from location and size of windows, etc.... But how much have people paid for this to be done, I just want an idea of approx how much per window as I only have 3 windows, 2 with 2 side openings and 1 with 1 side opening.

Thanks

We've had this done, but sorry can't give you an idea by window as we got a price for the job

We had 8 large windows, 2 exterior doors, garage door, fascias - total cost £1800

We do have a large 5 bed house though, so not sure how yours compares

Ours was £300 for two full day's work - fascia boards, window ledges & frames. We have a 3 bed detached with 10 windows in varying sizes from large bay to small side (didn't do patio, front or back door).

Thanks both, its only a 2 bedroom house with 3 fairly small windows. The door is fine, so that doesnt need doing.

Im hoping that it should cost too much, I think the average is £150 a day.

    Many Thanks

Getting quotes is definitely the right move. I had similar work done recently, and it cost me around $150 to $250 per window, depending on how much prep and sanding was needed. Prices can vary a lot depending on location and the condition of the wood.

If you're also dealing with any garage issues, I highly recommend checking out Garage Door Opener Repair Tallahassee FL — they were super professional and helpful when I needed repairs done.

We had something similar done a few months back, three wooden windows on the upper floor, all needing scraping, priming, and repainting due to weathering. We were quoted around $90–$120 per window depending on the condition and accessibility, and the total job ended up just under $350. That included all prep work, paint, and minor repairs to the wood.

One thing I found helpful was working with a local company that specializes in smaller residential jobs. I reached out to Painting Service Singapore , and they were very transparent with pricing and gave practical advice on maintaining the finish for longer. They didn’t push for a full house repaint, just did the windows efficiently and cleaned up after. Worth checking them out if you're comparing quotes.

Since you’ve only got three windows, it should be quite manageable cost-wise. Just make sure whoever you go with does proper prep, skipping sanding or priming can shorten the lifespan of the paint job quite a bit.

Hope that helps, and good luck with the quotes!
