Anyone having Bubbles.............

Dolly, 1 April, 2008 at 20:29 Posted on Planning 0 16

Evening Hitchers ? I've not posted for a while, I've been busy planning, only 5 months ? to go now its so exciting.

I'm not sure how many to purchase, wondered if you could give me your views

Do I buy one table bubble for each person or 4 for a table for a table of 8, or is this just being mean.

What do you think is best ? I can't make my mind up

I personally think 4 on a table of 8 will be adequate as not everyone will want bubbles.
( I am having bubbles too, I love them!)

Or you could just have some on a table and have people who want them to help themselves? See if they beat the kids to the punch ?

    Hey!

I'm having bubbles too, but instead/as well as confetti. Pictures look sooooo pretty!

Was thinking of giving them out to a few good friends or something like that, but have decided against that and instead i'm just gonna let the kids coming have them. Will keep them entertained!

Will prob have the odd few lurking on the tables at the reception tho....maybe 2 per table, but no more than that.

Funny thing bubbles... I was completely against them for two reasons

1 - we aren;t having kids and so didnt see the point
2 - I'm a Millwall fan and did not want anyone singing 'I'm forever blowing bubbles..' at my wedding - it being a rival west ham song. (ok to non football types this may seem an overreaction)
3 - also the ones I had seen were a bit cheap and tacky looking

But at the weekend I saw some that were realy nice and even though there are no kids I've ordered 24.

We were thinking about putting on the tables but the photos will be before the meal so that won't work. So when we come out of the civil ceremony we're getting the ushers to give them out from baskets to those they want them - then they can be in the photos.

I can be swayed on some things it seems!!

My brother and his wife gave bubbles as favours. He's a West Ham fan and they had claret and blue as their theme, so the bubbles fit in well!

We had bubbles at our wedding instead of confetti as our venue didn't allow confetti. It made no difference to me whether there were kids or not there. We got the kids to give them out as people came out of the ceremony room and we had our photos done outside. Everyone had a great time with them and they came out so well in our photos. I don't have any of our official ones online (but they were amazing) I do however have some that friends and family took:

I'm having bubbles, i think i've got a box of about 32 and there's going to be approx 80 people in the day, i was planning on just spreading them out amongst the tables. Therefore whoever wants one can help themselves.

Im having a few bottles on each table. Just been reading the thread and thought, 'oooh cool ill have some bubbles as well as confetti' and then started getting paranoid thinking ....what if some nasty child gets over excited and instead of blowing gently, starts flicking the bibble juice at us....did this happen to anyone? bubble juice in eye/hair/on dress ? Argh the possibilities!

I think bubbles are great, especially in the photos when you get those back. I have seen some from our photographer and that has made me want them more.

    I found some at http://www.weddingdelights.co.uk/accessories/bubbles.asp

    and at https://www.watchshopping.com/watch-guide/best-wedding-watches-for-the-bride-and-groom/ Wedding bubbles

    Hope it goes well

I read the first half of this post thinking it was about champagne, not little bottles of detergent. I was horrified at the amount of people suggesting the bubbles should be given to children to take home as gifts. ?

We will be having bubbles on the table .. but not the kind you want to share with kids! ?

Went to a great wedding last year where there were bubbles on the table. I think there were 2 or 3 bottles per table. Had a lot of fun with them...
