Anyone help with ideas for 30th wedding anniversary gift please?

lyni, 27 February, 2009 at 15:42 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 8

My parents are celebrating their's in a couple of weeks, and I'd like to get a gift.

The only thing I can think of remotely related this is getting them a bottle of wine from 1979, is this really twee and naff?! ?

Has anyone got any suggestions please?

TIA

I got my parents a bottle of 30 year old wine for theirs 3 years ago. I don't know if they drank it, or if it was still drinkable.

Also got some sweet peas named after pearls.

By parents like both wine and gardening.

Can you tell I googled for gift ideas?!

For my parents 30th we got them a rose bush I *think* it was called Pearl Anniversary but I'll have a look for you, they don't drink but love their garden so this seemed a nice idea and they loved it

The variety is Pearl Anniversary (whitson) we got it ordered from our local nursery but had a quick google and you can get them online fairly easily, I've used this supplier before

We got my parents a digital photo frame for their anniversary also getting one for H's dads 70th. Its not ness the kind of thing they would buy themselves and you can put on lots of pics of the family over the years.........

Also love the rosebush idea - did that for our parents as a thank you after our wedding.

For my mum and dad's 30 anniversary a couple of years ago I made them a montage of photos of them and our family from their wedding day (and acouple from before) right up to mine and my H's wedding. They loved it.
