Anyone know about factory fitted parts for a new car?

nickynackynoo, 26 November, 2008 at 20:21 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 9

I picked up my new car a while ago and finally tried my ipod into the factory fitted connector that the salesman was really keen to emphasis when I bought the car. Only to find that it isnt there. They never fitted it? They have tried to fob me off with a aftermarket one and I have said I will consider it if they refund what I paid. (I have had other problems with them)

I can't seem to find how much it cost as it was part of a package and the website is a clear as mud. Does anyone have an idea roughly how much it costs to fit one?

?

I guess it would depend on your car, I have a Fiat 500 and it's £81 for the ipod connection kit

Thanks beans, the basic ipod connection is £90 with Seat, but I paid for factory fitted so it was supposed to be under the seat with no cables etc. I just am cautious that Arnold Clark might give me a figure that is not entirely accurate and I want to have an idea of what to expect. My sales invoice does not break the figures down.

This is the same people that told me it didn't matter the registration document said it was Orange when it was bright blue!

    Beans I have a Fiat 500 too!

I had a Seat Ibiza sport and the connector socket was by the handbrake - what are they trying to sell you - is it some sort of lead to plug in your stereo?

Aw, I thought that was the factory fitted option. I don't know though because my model came with it already.

Funny about the colour... Is there like a central Seat customer service you can contact and complain about them? Would make them move a bit I guess

Snowball it is a basic connector they are trying to sell me now, I think it will be far too difficult to insert the factory fitted option as all the cables run under the floor. My issue is that they pushed it as a selling point and it didn't even bloody have it?

And the dealer is over an hour from my house and I am fed up yet AGAIN having to drive up there on my day off to fix their mistake.

Beans, I did try and complain to the manager about the colour but he never returned my call so I gave up. Thats why I am determined to get it fixed to my standards

I still have the aux adapter lead here which is no good to me so let me know if it's any use to you!

Hope you get it sorted, it's a royal pain when you buy a new car and things aren't as you ordered them. My local Fiat dealer is a trek to Milton Keynes so I hate it when I have to go in for petty things.

    ?

My H asked the dealership about retro fitting an ipod connection into our 2nd hand Avensis and was quoted around £300 by Arnold Clark. That would have meant it was fully operative using the steering wheel controls too, apparently. Needless to say, he's not bothered with getting it done!

Seat are really annoying for that!

If it was supposed to be under the seat try the other one thats where we found our usb connection, it was supposed to be under the passenger seat but its actually under the drivers.

otherwise fight hard to get it. its their *** up

Hi thanks for posting, I have checked under the driver seat as they suggested thats where it might be, then when I said it wasn't there they said "oops never fitted it!"

Snowball, thanks for the offer, but going to make them sort it!

    ?Rooby, how are you all!?
