    Hi

My H has tried everything and nothing worked.. However, on Tues as a last resort he had the back of his mouth / palette scraped and his tonsils out. All for me!!!!

I have been feeding him jelly and custard but he is in an awful lot of pain.

    Was that through the doctors?

My OH was fine for months and months. It seems to be when he is absolutely knackered that is it worse.

The only thing that worked with my H was getting his tonsils removed!

At first the doctor wouldn't entertain him simply stating that 'the only thing that will reduce your snoring is loosing weight'. My H is slightly overweight but not significantly so and he's snored badly since he was a child and had recurring tonsilitius. Anyway, H asked to doctor to look down his throat, doc took one look and referred him to ENT specialist.

On his first hospital visit the specialist before doing anything said 'we will never remove an adults tonsils unless absolutely necessary' He took one look down OH's throat and referred him straight for surgery!

Turns out H's tonsils were so swollen and covered in scar tissue from all the infections that they really had to come out. It was an awful operation for him and was painful for 2 weeks afterwards but it was worth it. For H no more recurring infections, for me no more snoring ?

My OH is convinced his snoring is to do with his weight. But he hasn't always snored. I'm desperate to try anything so may give this ago.

It's worth a try Sherry, hope it works!

For me, the only thing that provided relief was earplugs.
