Anyone wrote to football club for signed letter of congratulations for Grooms wedding present?

I wrote to Chelsea FC by email yesterday but not heard anything yet. I heard that if you write to some clubs and let them know you're getting married, groom is a huge fan etc, they send a letter or card as congratulations, signed by the manager or players. I wrote to Chelsea FC by email yesterday but not heard anything yet. I heard that if you write to some clubs and let them know you're getting married, groom is a huge fan etc, they send a letter or card as congratulations, signed by the manager or players.

Not holding out much hope as wedding is only 4 and a half weeks away, so I've probably left it too late!!

I have got him a watch too so I have got him a present but I think he'd be chuffed with this! So fingers crossed!!!!! x

    I e-mailed OH's club last week - someone phoned me on Friday to check some details. She told me she will send me a congratulations letter with the date and our names on it, signed by the team manager. She said she had missed him that day but would get him to sign it this week and send it on me. Result!

    Hi SaSaSi,

    I was wondering if you would mind helping me I am getting married next year and I'm clearing trying to be organised. My husband to be is a MASSIVE fan of Manchester United I was wondering how you contacted them with regards to the letter of congratulations as this would make his day his year his life apparently as we have recently just been to a wedding where the groom had a letter from Tottenham and he was amazed by it.

    Would be so grateful for any info.

    Not being funny but what did you expect? Think the whole football team spends a couple of hours each week signing cards for all the brides and husbands to be?

    Hi All

    I've been trying since September to get something from Crystal Palace for my OH.

    And today I got a card in the post signed by the players address to me and my OH - I need to hide it now!!

    It can take a while so make sure you stick at it!

    I am the resident magician in the corporate hospitality area at West Ham United and I think they are very good at responding to such requests. I actually got Julian Dicks (ex player and current 1st team coach) to write a card for my pal who was getting married. I think most clubs will oblige if given enough time.

    What a fantastic idea!! My H2B is a huge Leicester fan (can you imagine his excitement at the min?!) so would love to get something like this... We've still got just over a year to go so might wait a bit longer Smiley smile
