Original budget was 6K, that's crept up to 8K and it's looking like it will be slightly over that now! I'm determined to get it back down though. By the way, this doesn't include the honeymoon, which will be around 5K.

Our absolute max budget was £15,000 but we didnt want to spend that, I haven't done the exact calculations in a while but I think ALL the wedding stuff will come to under £12,000 and thats for a wedding in a castle, sit down 3 course meal for 80, drinks etc plus all the other bits and bobs!

Honeymoon is costing a big whack at £5-6k but it is 3 weeks in America so we feel we're getting our money's worth - its the trip of a lifetime! x

Well it's something I wear everyday so will the OH and it's pretty much the only jewellery I'll wear with my engagement ring. Totally a personal preference. In my family jewellery and diamonds have always been seen as an investment if that makes sense. Smiley smile

We have very little left to pay for now, and we've spent just over £16k, excluding our honeymoons.

Like Trickers there was certain things we'd be willing to skimp on (buttonholes, favours, little bits etc) but others, especially anything which lasted more than just the day that we wouldn't even consider skimping on.

So after our reception costs, our TOG is our biggest cost at £1,650 and our rings at £1,500 too. We also added our Videographer, but we did shop around and get a reasonable price (considering some we received) of £600.

I initially thought that we could do the whole thing for £10k...not possible for where we live and the type of venue we want... We're looking at about the £15k mark without the honeymoon. Though OH's parents have just given us their "must have" guest list and OH has decided that he definitely wants all of those people coming, so that's added about £700 to what we had originally budgeted for...

£10,000 on wedding £3000 honeymoon and we wont be spending a penny over! I think its all personal preference tbh, there are certain things that are very important to us eg, tog £1000, Food £5000 and then other things that are less so eg flowers £580.

If we only had £2000 we would only spend £2000, likewise if I could spend £20,000 then I probably would!

Set a rough budget of £10k, ended up spending £16k incl honeymoon, for 80ish in the day and 100ish in the evening (though could go up to 120 and still be free). When we set the rough budget we were going for a barebones wedding, now we have a casino, string quartet, paid for lots of people to stay at the hotel, upgraded the drinks package...the list goes on and on but I'm very happy with what we have!

Last time I did the sums we were looking at about £15,000 excluding my dress (which my mum is buying me as my wedding gift), that's 100 day guests with 4 course meal and drinks and then an additional 50 evening guests (ish), awesome live band and an incredible photographer... our venue has a package that includes all our flowers (and I'm not that fussed on flowers so will be sticking inside the package) and I'm making the womens favours, we will most probably be using Vistaprint for our invites to save a wee bit of cash (I have expensive taste and really Smiley heart letterpress invites but can't justify it!)...

We initially started out not wanting to spend more than £11k but were both desperate for stunning photos and great music and so have splurged on our band and TOG.

Very lucky to have been given money towards the wedding by both sets of parents which really reduced the amount we need to save and will be having a honeymoon around the £2500 mark I think as we really want to move house next year so have put the round the world trip on hold!

Our budget is 10-15k and I am going to easily be inside that amount I think, and I think it will probably end up being about the 13k mark but saying that I have nearly 2 years until our wedding day, and I can really spend when I want too ?

Our maximum budget was 10k but we're having to re-think that due to falling house prices... Not having a great time at the moment!

Ours will cost about 25k overall, I would think. We have a budget for the big things (like venue, dj, food, tog, flowers) but we are buying other things outside of this budget and not really taking too much note (rings, for instance, we will not include in the budget, although they will not be cheap we just haven't put them on the budget sheet). We also haven't taken a honeymoon into account yet - we are planning on Europe though, probably Sardinia, so it shouldn't be extortionate.

ARGH!! I know!!! Time seems to be moving super fast in wedding land >_< and I seem to have gotten stuck in a rut with the planning.

With regards to the money side of things, I would love to be able to cap it at £10k, for me it isn't about trying to put on a display of wealth, more trying to have the wedding we want, we just don't appear to have cheap tastes, d'oh!! Luckily for us, we can afford to save up for it...but still, it's a lot of money >_< Once in a life time though hey ?

Our wedding has come to about £14000, but we have quite an expensive venue and photographer, and still need to organise the cake!

    Hope this is helpful

We originally thought it'd cost about £12k but it crept up to £18k in the end! That included pretty much everything, 100 people in the day (afternoon tea) and 200 at night (sit-down dinner), in London... so we didn't do too badly I think and had everything we wanted.

I think after everything including honeymoon our wedding will have cost about £15k. I was thinking that we would spend about £8,000 but we've gone quite over budget!

I get married this Saturday and the whole thing has come in at around £2500, for that I've got a designer dress (ex sample from Copplestone's in Liverpool) my partner got a suit hand made, we're having a sit down meal for 37 and we're having an evening do for a hundred with a buffet... we've had to use our imagination along the way and I'm lucky that my partner works at an art college so photography etc... has been at mates rates but it's doable on a budget if you need to!
