My thoughts exactly and I would feel the same if it had been posted on the wedding planning section.

If it was a regular poster I would happily support them but first post????? Why would we vote for this complete stranger as opposed to anyone else in the competition?

Could perhaps come and introduce yourself and you know get to know people before begging for votes. What makes you better than the others in the competition?

I don't think in your first post you get to dictate if people should 'move on' or not. I genuinely was interested as to why you wanted to win your wedding,hence why I asked. I tend to call a spade a spade.

I'm sorry to hear about your family member.if it means that much though for you to get married with them there the why not do a low key wedding they can attend ASAP? Close friends of mine found out that the grooms dad had only a few months to live. They pulled the and for there huge wedding and had a beautiful intimate ceremony instead. Getting married and wedding arnt the same thing.

If you want the big fancy wedding, that's a completely different thing from getting married. If you really want your relative to be there - nip down the registry office and get married - no fuss, no drama - just get married.

Not sure when I dictated, I shared an experience I knew of.

However, if you are this delicate then I would suggest (not dictating just to be clear ?) sticking to wedding planning as the perpose of OT is to discuss and debate non wedding matters.

I hope your wedding is perfect however it happens and your loved one is there to share it with you.

I don't think anyone is getting deliberately trying to get at you. Initially, your post requested votes but you provided no context nor was there can attempt to build any rapport. Obviously when initially responding posters weren't aware of your situation and at the end of the day you were asking strangers to help you out.

Once aware of your circs it was pointed out that you don't need a "wedding" in order tov get married just a legal ceremony.
