We just had something similar happen. Landlord didn't pay mortgage for several months (we knew nothing about this, we were just paying rent as normal) - a court case went ahead and the bank were given possession of the house (we knew none of this). We were informed by a 'to the occupier' letter from the bank and solicitors that the house had been reposessed and that we would be evicted.

We had to move out before the bailiffs came, as they secure the house and do take posessions - I think though that you have 14 days after they come to claim your posessions.

You should get warning before the bailiffs come. I'm assuming you're home is separate to the bosses home? separate address? You should get warning before things happen, but make sure if you get any 'to the occupier' letters you open them as they may be important.

If the houses are being reposessed it normally goes to court (i think?) - if it follows the same procedure as ours it will.

The only thing is that there may not be a big gap of time between you getting the notice that the house has been reposessed and the bailiffs coming. Ours was just over 2 weeks. So we had to find a place and move in a short time.

To be honest, (if you are almost sure it is happening) I would be thinking of moving out before it got to all this - if I had know earlier with our house I would have. It's stressful having to go through - especially when it's not your fault. But you've done nothing wrong and I think it would just be less stressful to move and get settled and not put yourselves through it.

If you need any info about what happened to us then let me know, I can let you know what all the letters etc said.
