1 week to go and unnaturally calm?!

loobylou1979, 12 February, 2011 at 13:48 Posted on Planning 0 12

Just one week to go, and whilst we have quite a few little bits to do, I'm feeling calm and very excited for next Saturday!

I've got the cake to make and kids packs and post box to do this weekend whilst OH finishes the table plan, and then tonight we're going to look for things to do on our honeymoon in Paris and then Cornwall, but then not much else!

We both finish work on Tuesday and have a shed load of housework and washing to do on Wednesday. Then Thursday and Friday will be pamper time and the finer details of organisation.

Any last minute tips/ideas of anything else I should be doing this week?

7 sleeps to go!!!

Ooo very exciting I only have a week longer to wait so will be seeing what people suggest.

Not sure where abouts in Cornwall you are going but if you are near Newquay at all Jamie Oliver's restaurant is lovely.

    Hope you stay calm x

Thanks Tinks, we're staying near Boscastle (Launceston) so Newquay is an hour away. Rick Stein's restaurants are a little bit closer, but didn't know about Jamie's so will take a look there too x

I hope you have an amazing day and that it's everything you've wished for.

Oo exciting!! Ive got just over a week till the big day but were getting married abroad and fly out this friday coming so trying to sort out all the packing, but feeling rather calm....at the moment! Smiley smile

If you go to padstow then try rick steins takeaway fish and chips as they are delicious! Also if your close to st ives then walk along to porthminster beach, its really nice, they have a cafe on the beach which is nice to sit at in the eve with a beer! .... just a word of warning, watch out for the seaguls! they are mental! espec in st ives me and oh have both been attacked by them for food! lol....i guess its all part of the experience Smiley smile good luck for next sat xx

Hey Sammi, It was my last day at work today so reality starting to kick in, but feeling good, just need to write a list of what needs doing over the next few days (pampering included!) and ring around the suppliers.

We arrive Monday afternoon so will have a lazy evening, then we have decided to do:

Tuesday: a river cruise and Eiffel Tower

Wednesday: a walk down the champs elysee to Place de la Concorde and Louvre (stopping off at Angelina's where they apparantly do the best hot choc in the world?!)

Thursday: Sacre Coer and Espace Montmarte Salvador Dali then home!

We're just trying to find a couple of restaurant recs for near our hotel but struggling so may just need to play by ear!

We're going to need a rest by the end of it, but guess that's what Cornwall is for :-)

It'll be fab to read to compare our experiences when you are back too x

Better to be calm than a nervous wreck!! Enjoy the run up (and the day and honeymoon of course!) ?

    Sounds fab!

I have had the same issues with finding recommended restaurants, think I may just play it by ear and ask the hotel receptionist if they have anywhere they would suggest.

Also, I was talking to my travel agent friend and she recommended eating in the Latin quater as there are lovely little French bistros that are reasonably priced with great food. The metro station St Micheal take you to the ourskirts and near to the Notre Dame as well. ?

Angelina's? Not heard of that but will definately be keeping an eye out now!

I am so excited for you, hope you have a fantastic wedding day and a lovely time in both Paris and Cornwall (go to Tintagel if you can it is beautiful) Will definately compare notes when we are both back! x

Oh and something I have found really useful is this:

    http://www.ratp.fr/en/ratp/c_21894/paris-visite/

You can download a map with all the metro stations and toursist attractions etc on it!! ?
