14th June 2014 or 26th July 2014??!??!

neo_kat26, 24 February, 2013 at 17:56 Posted on Planning 0 10

I have two dates to choose from, both are Saturdays but I really dont know which one to choose! I know weather is never guaranteed but I am really hoping to make the most of the outdoor space at the venue. HELP!!!!! Any opinions would be greatly appreciated! ?

July will probably be warmer but bare in mind that if you are going on honeymoon straight after, the July date will probably be in the school holidays, meaning honeymoon more expensive!

From what I remember July has been wet the last few years.

My birthday is on 12th June and it is almost always sunny and warm. The rare times it hasn't been sunny it has still been dry. I would go for June if it were up to me.

The weather is so unpredictable that I don't think you can pick on that basis. I'd go for June as July could be a problem for people who are going on their holidays, etc, particularly if they have kids.

My best friend got married on the 26th July a few years back and that day was the hottest of the year - and every year on their anniversary the weather has been stunning! However unfortunately we don't have control over the weather Smiley sad Smiley sad Smiley sad boo!!! Haha

We chose June because it avoids the school holidays and I'm hoping it's not too hot that I feel as if I could melt out of my dress, but (fingers crossed) it will still be warm and sunny so we can enjoy the outside space.

I personally would hate this. I'm sure everyone would be quite uncomfortable all dressed up if it was sweltering. And I'm not sure how keen everyone would be to sit down for a three course meal if it was that hot.

Forget the weather, the main issue for you might be that the first date is during the football world cup. In previous years this has caused a fair amount of angst with brides having to share their day with a widescreen tv in the bar.......

I would opt for the later date.....just to be sure.....

    hth

If it helps I'm getting married on 15th June at the seaside. We found out after booking that the 15th will be Father's Day which makes it more special for us. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee good ol British weather but what you can guarantee is a wonderful day whichever you choose. xx
