2 months today- Am terrified and an emotional wreck!

*Mini*, 24 July, 2011 at 16:47 Posted on Planning 0 21

Went to a very close friends wedding yesterday and it really emotional. I cried buckets from the monet she walked into the church, all through the service and then at the speeches and first dance- I actually cried more than the MOB!

BUT to further complicate matters I cant stop crying! I bawled me eyes at at race for life today, I cried on the way to our venue to sort out menus etc and then reading the paper about poor Amy Winehouse- yep you guessed it, blubbed some more.

Has getting married turned anyone else into a massive emo?

You are not alone... I used to cry for no reason at all!!

The morning of the wedding I was crying into my breakfast.

But... I got through the ceremony with only a few minor wobbly bits and after that was fine!!

I am getting more and more nervous. I keep having to give myself a pep talk that it does not matter if i cry or muck anything up as all the people there are family and friends that like and care about us.

I didn't which I was surprised by as every other bride I spoke to in the run up to our wedding told me to prepare for the tears! I guess it means you crying is perfectly normal! not long to go, exciting!!

WSLS - maybe you are getting a bit tired and stressed? I've got just under 6 wks to go, so not much different to you, and I've been crying at everything recently. The last 2-3 months can get really stressful.

Sorry I can't offer you any advice but wanted to say you're not alone in feeling like this. Hope you can find some time for yourself in amongst all the w-plans.

My Husband didn't freak out at all during the build up to the wedding and on the morning of the wedding he freaked out big time.

I, on the other hand, freaked out in the build up to the wedding and was all calm but bemused on the morning of the big day, wondering why my Hubby was freaking out.

I know which way I'd rather have it...

Oh dear, you sound like you are getting very emotional about it all. Don't worry, you will be absolutely fine on the day. I really thought that I would get welled up on my wedding day but I didn't and it was because I was so happy and excited. The whole morning getting ready went in the blink of an eye and before we knew it we were in the car and on our way. Once I had had my pre-interview at the venue I was just so looking forward to seeing my hubby in the room and when I walked up to him we were like two cheshire cats. We had permanent smiles on our faces all day and night and everyone said that they would always remember our wedding because everyone was so happy and smiley. When I look back at photos of our day that the guests took we are always laughing and joking at something, so don't worry you might be fretting now but on the day you'll be loving every minute I promise Smiley smile

This is what concerns me, as a usual "Stresshead" who is currently very calm about everything, no nervousness, emotional moments, stress etc. TBH though, I am enjoying the build up, so i'll stay calm and deal with the few hours of nervousness when it hits.

@ Vintage_mini - I am sure what your feeling is very normal. I remember SamSam posted something simular on Facebook with 10 weeks to go. Not sure what I can say to help, other than, you just kind of have to ride it out. Fingers crossed, it will pass very soon.

Mini, I'm sure what you're feeling is normal. I know that I'm in denial about the whole thing as I know what I'll be like... Prepare for a similar post from me in about 8 months' time

I had Bucks Fizz when I woke up and me and my BM shared a bottle of champers when we were getting ready - I think that calmed any nerves before they really appeared...

This actually happened to me around that time, and now I'm fine again. I cried at adverts, whenever I thought about the wedding, when I heard a song related to the wedding...I was so scared I'd bawl all the way through my own one but now I think I'll be ok.

I think at some point you'll have 'got it all out' and feel ok again

Oh God yes, I cry at everything! I even thought I was with child, as did my SIL2B, as I literally cried at everything. But with a week to go, I'm feeling less emotional, probably due to the massive To Do list I have! And the fact I'm feeling like a kid on Christmas Eve. If you're like me, it will settle as the wedding draws closer, and I'm sure you'll be fine on the big day x

I have ages to go and I’m already and emotional stress head so i think it’s normal, well i hope it is or I'm shafted!

it’s probably the pressure, emotions and realisation of how close the wedding is now. I hope you feel back to normal soon ?
