I'm so relieved that I'm not getting carried away. People I work with think I'm crazy booking things 'already'. I have booked reception venue, got to wait till Jan to book church, have booked photographer, lady at work is doing my cake. Know what dress I want, just need to order it. Now I'm stuck as to what to do next. Thinking of trying to be really good till end of summer, keep my saturdays free for days out, camping etc. Then around Sept/Oct time start going to see florists.

I have booked the accommodation but that's it! Perusing dresses, but I'll probably get someone to make it as I haven't found anything I like. Flights won't be booked till about the end of the year and I'll contact the wedding planner in Tobago in April next year so she can organise photographer, service, flowers, etc. Just ensuring that we're saving enough money for all of this at the moment.

All I've done is book the date with our wedding planners / Mayor and booked to go out to Santorini next year to check out venues!!

Got my theme sorted as 1950's, but not too OTT with it, and started looking at invites but dunno when to send them with it being abroad?

    Hi fellow 2010 girls! ?

We have booked our venue for both ceremony and reception (it's all in one place - civil ceremony) and that's pretty much it! Next thing will prob be photographer I'd imagine. Will start looking for dresses this time next year. Hoping to book the honeymoon earlyish too in order to pay it all off in time and to (hopefully) not feel the sting as much!!!

2010? And yo';re booking all this already? Slow down - you'll get bored of your wedding planning soon. Seriously, everyone I know has been sick of the sight of all things wedding before the day - and that's usually when they've only had a year of it. Blimey. ?

Oh Dear .....ladies i think I have a serious problem....

I am sat at my desk at work browsing innocenntly through a wedding magazine, I have just worked out why it looks so familiar - because I ALREADY have it! I didnt even realise, when I looked at it in the shop ?

    I am a total addict

Me neither, think its too soon yet. I want me and my H2B to enjoy planning and i think if we get too stuck in now it will get too much and may end up spoiling it, dont want it to be something that we get stressed about.....plus im really not as organised as some of you seem!!

dont get me wrong though i have loads of idea and stuff, just not put anyone of them into action yet....its all very exciting though...eekk x

I dont think you should panic, after all there are people only just setting dates now for this time next year. The only reason I have booked my venue and reception is because there aren't many venues in our area suitable within the amount we wanted to spend. And out of all the photographers websites we looked at, the one we booked was the only one we wanted. These for us were the 2 most important things for the day and didnt want to avoid disappointment.

If you have a particular venue in mind, it might be worth finding out if they have taken many bookings for 2010 yet. The same if there is a particular photographer you want.

One of our problems is that there seems to be a shortage of suppliers for most things weddingy in our area.

well we are vueing some places in Chester over the next few weekends, so hopefully we may be able to get that sorted quiet soon. Theres so much to do. Have you seen any dresses you like, my mum has been asking me to go try some on, so i might do that as well, because after all....thats the most fun part!! hehe

It good that you prioritised what was the most important to get sorted first, because there the 2 most stressfull things so now you'll be able to enjoy planning the other bits. Its good to hear what other progress people are making.

I guessed that the most important things were those that only one couple could have on that particular date, i.e. venue, photographer, florist, transport, dj.

The church wont let us book till after xmas, and there are a few good florists round here to choose from. We already own the transport for me.

I have looked at dresses, but only because I work in the wedding industry and spend a lot of time in my job looking at bridal shop websites and flicking through wedding magazines. Just before we got engaged, I was looking on a local shop's website and saw the dress. Because it is the designer's this year style, it wont be available next year, so I want to go and order it later this year. If I hadnt seen it then I would wait till next year to look.
