I had less time to plan the whole thing then you have left now Lucy! Unless there's an specific photographer you need to have/no one else will do or similar then I'd relax a bit. Dare I say, we can sometimes blow things out of proportion on here...?

Thanks!!! I generally think im quite an organised person so didnt really think there was anything to worry about. Some people must just be super organised!!! the venue was my priority as we fell in love with it ages ago and thats sorted so ?

Unfortunatly in my area things seem to get booked up way in advance compared to most areas (not huge amount of choice)!!!! I desperatly wanted to get married in 2010 but it was impossible. I had to compromise with my date and i booked it in November 2009 for may 2011!

Mines in just over a year and I have booked the venue, registrar, got my dress and accessories and quite a few bits and bobs e.g. centrepieces etc in sales and stuff, booked my DJ, tog and videographer and have lots of things in the pipeline...

I wouldnt worry you have plenty of time. I have made a year plan with jobs to do every month, maybe write it all down to get it clear in your mind and then break it up over the time you have left..

Well I've still got quite a while left but so far I've done the following-

    • Booked the venue
    • Booked the Cars
    • Booked the Dec's (Chair Covers etc)
    • Got quote from florist, just need to go over it and book
    • Booked appointment with Photographer who has kindly reserved the date for me!
    • Ordered Dresses just need to pay some more off this month
    • Decided Colour Scheme!

Doing pretty well really but I want to be all ready by next year so I don't have to worry about booking anything!

    It's so exciting isn't it girls? x

We're 1 year and a month today! Yeah!

We've booked venue, registrar and chosen the bridesmaids and my dress and picked the colour scheme - our jobs this month are to pick florist and DJ and hunt down a band - my sister is making invitations and all stationary so that job is nearly done as well!!

When I chose a winter wedding and gleefully said it might even snow - my mum said be careful what you wish for - looking at this Winter in West Yorkshire she may have been right!!!!

Have fun with the rest of your planning!

I am nowhere near as organised as most of you guys, I am a rubbish planner! So far we have:

    A venue

A photographer (just booked before Christmas)

A provisional booking for the registrar

I don't intend on doing much else until May and the "one year to go" mark, unless there is anything glaringly obvious that I should be sorting out sooner?

Yes, I realise that getting married in London - and on a Sunday - has meant that I'm reasonably okay for suppliers - I guess if you're getting married somewhere where there's only one decent photographer/dj/whatever you prob need to move a bit quicker! Good luck girlies anyway. Smiley smile

Well I'm Oct 2011 (hopefully) so not much done but so far:

    • Chosen bridesmaids, best man, page boys and ushers
    • Visited venues - knocked heaps off the list and final viewing at one on 23rd of this month so hopefully will book and have the actual date secured then
    • Looked at colours, although this is an ever changing decision
    • Looked into photographers and have an idea of who we want to talk to
    • Chosen centerpieces

How exciting! Can't wait to start doing more but need to confirm a date with the venue first.
