2011 BRIDES..........ANYONE CHOSE THEIR CAKE? (PICS)

Wow your organised! I havent even booked my venue yet.

The main castle has to be fruit cake as the turrets are so heavy (i dont like fruit cake yuk)................so the other 2 tiers are going to be sponge and maybe a chocolate sponge, something to suit everyone! x

It made sence to have a castle cake as I am getting married on a castle, the big fairytale wedding and a bit OTT LOL!

What a shame the parents dont agree but it is her special day and I bet they wont hesitate to have a bit.

I have chosen who's making my cake (my mum) but that's about as far as I've got! I'll probably have a three tier, round cake with flowers incorporated in it. But I need a venue first I think, even though I keep making the small decisions, like favours, now as I love all that!

Wow, that's cool! Very extravagant!

I don't have a picture of our cake, but H2B saw it at a wedding fayre and really liked the idea. We're having loads of little cupcakes with white icing and colourful sweets (probably dolly mixtures) on the top, and then a cake shaped like a large cup-cake on top so we still have something to cut. We also saw an idea online yesterday about having rainbow coloured sponge, which does look very cool, if not a little garish!

We've got a little bride & groom to go on the top too, we had them made to look a bit like us. These aren't the exact ones but you get the idea!

We're probably gonna get H2B's brother to make the cakes. Our theme is "Village Fete/Credit Crunch" so the more mismatched and home made things are the better! We're also looking to hire mismatched vintage china wear - but that's another story!

Hmmm I'm not sure I like the 'castle' cake it's a little twee and birthday party-ish for my liking.

If you removed the turrets it would be great! ?
