Oh Washington Old Hall is lovely! Though if you have a venue sorted for the reception then I would go with the Civic Centre if I were you, much closer to the barracks too and the little park bit would be nice for photos straight afterwards.

We've booked Linden Hall near Morpeth, www.macdonaldhotels.co.uk/lindenhall (made that address up so hopefully it works!), we live very close to the Gosforth Park Marriott but have decided to be awkward and choose somewhere further away! That's as far as we've got with the planning though, I'm just researching too for now, and just starting to think about photographers. I don't want to plan anything too soon as I will only change my mind before the day if I set anything in stone now!

The Turkey Mill looks gorgeous!! I really did just scroll through their brochure and the pictures are stunning! I can totally see why it gave you butterflies!!

What month are you having your big day? I think teal is more summery, purple more autumny...just my opinion tho ofcourse! xx

Ohh I looked at Linden Hall when I was first looking, it's gorgeous too! My only problem is that I don't drive, and I'm originally from London so not 100% sure of the North East so just sticking to Newcastle...relying on the net and lovely Hitchers for planning this wedding! I under-estimated how serious H2B was when he said 'my only job is to turn up and say the right name' lol.

Not been on here for ages, so apologies! Mummy2hannah don't worry I'm still researching as well! We're thinking of going abroad to Greece to do it. I've fallen in love with Santorini and we're currently getting quotes from wedding planners,etc. It seems to be taking ages ha! ha!

I really want to decide by then end of this month or September exactly where we doing it and whether we're using a planner or through a travel company. Everyone is telling us to move it forward a year but to be honest we need to save until 2011 so that we've got enough money. Our date may be moving to July though, not sure yet.

Can anyone else not wait to the new year when we can say 'I'm getting married next year' and not '2011'. I always lose peoples interest at that point!!

Lol yeh i cant wait for that!!! i'm hoping to pop into a venue i found on my new work route tomorrow to ask about a viewing date. seems reli nice but think it might be a bit too expensive so i'll have to wait and see.

i'm still playing around with things atm, not reli planning. my brother just got engaged and he gets married next year so kinda lost the last of my planning bug for now. more excited about his cos it's next year

Hi Lynn, certainly look for your venue, you cant do that early enough really! I was a bit like that at first but have found as I have started to book suppliers lots are saying they already have quite a few bookings for 2011!

I seem to be a million miles off and am getting more and more deflated. Thought we would have had at least a venue booked by now. But we've decided to do it abroad which is proving the most difficult thing ever, as the 3 planners I'm enquiring with want numbers and dates and no travel agent seems to organise weddings in Portugal.

I feel like I've sent 1,000 e.mails already and my h2b doesn't seem that interested, wonder why I'm bothering.

Plus how can we possibly know numbers for 2 years off, we've not even mentioned it to anyone.

Nicola07, i totally feel your pain my love! My days seem to be spent emailing masses of people. Looked at the travel agent then decided to give it a go pricing everything up individually, see if we could save any money. We're set on New York and no matter how many times i tell people in emails we like in the UK loads of them respond with 'pop in and see us', I CAN'T! Grrrrr.

H2B watches me getting so annoyed at all of this and just laugh,i may throw the laptop at him if he does it again!

Good thing your not getting married there then! lol! Both me and my partner fell in love with Brandshatch Place and as we have booked exclusive use we though it would be really nice for our friends and family to stay the night then all have breakfast together the next day.
