Hey ladies.......

I was wondering what you ladies have booked/arranged so far as 2013 brides.

I am to wed in August 2013 and we have provissionally booked the venue today, going to speak with the church tomorrow.

This is all we have done up to now though.

Well I have church booked, reception booked and tog booked, Cake sorted (my mums doing it) flowers sorted (my nan is arranging them, as I'm having silk). Make-up booked (its my niece in law to be), hair provisionally booked!

Centre pieces nearly sorted, so is my wedding wish tree (FIL2B making it)

Hoping by the end of the month to have sorted the suits and the cars!

I'm very organised! I keep doing wedding stuff when I should be doing work for my degree!

I'm iffy on this aswell, I'm getting married on the 4th which is not only slap bang in the middle of the summer holidays it's also a Sunday so I might send mine out a tad earlier than the norm so guests (hopefully!) don't book their holiday so they can be at the wedding.

I was originally thinking of sending them out with this years Christmas cards (Blimey I'm thinking about next Christmas already!) but I'm leaning more towards sending them out to give 12 months notice now

We were NEARLY date twins, our original plan was the bank holiday weekend! We were worried guests might be a bit miffed they had to give up their long weekend as it's the most popular one to do stuff but I'm an absolute paranoid wibbler like that ?. Part of me does regret it though as a lot probably would have had the Monday off work so could relax more but oh well! Most aren't travelling too far anyway and it won't be going on till the small hours as I have M.E and I will be FAR too exhausted!

2nd March for us, engaged since July last year.

Got church, venue, save the dates and tog all sorted. Everything else I have researched to the nth degree but not yet booked or paid for anything.

For save the dates I would suggest about the year to go mark otherwise you may as well just wait and send invites (since most people send them well before the traditional 2/3 months before now). We sent ours more than a year before because we sent them with our xmas cards to save on postage.

Hi there, im getting married on the sun 28th august 2013! bank holiday was ideal for us, as we ve got people travelling from cornwall, norway and australia! ill probably do the save the date cards over the spring.

we ve got the venue and registrar booked, florist has been chosen - although i might change it. We are looking at another photographer this month and will probably then decide by feb. My make up is booked, the photo booth is too. Ive booked a venue dresser just to help with the top table swag, its a reasonable price and not going over the top. ive bought a few bits myself.

im now plodding along,i was really excited before but having to hold back due to me being like TARA4MIKE and studying for a degree!

Wow, you're all putting me to shame with your planning! I thought it was too early to do anything yet except go on a diet Smiley smile Also, I had to google "TOG" as I had no idea what you were talking about. Photographer? Do we really need to get one now? How do I go about finding and choosing one?

Anyways, we're talking June 22, 2013, but we haven't booked anything yet. We're going to see Hever Castle next weekend, which is my dream venue, and I'm hoping we're just going to fall in love with it and book it then and there so something can be set in stone.

I'm so happy to have read your discussion on save the date timing. I'm Canadian, and EVERYONE on my side is coming from abroad, even my entire bridal party, so I need to give them all a long window of warning. I was going to use Paperless Post for the Save the Date, though. It's not a free service, but will cost a pittance compared to real post. The cards are sent by email, they're very pretty, and it's an easy site to use. For anyone wanting to save on the cost of stationery, email is a great alternative, whether using a paid service or just sending them out yourselves! I'm planning to send my save the date emails 12 months ahead of the wedding, then send the invites 5 months ahead.

I'd ask friend etc or people you work with if they know any good ones, if not Google is another great tool to look around, and not sure about Canada but over here the TOG or photographer's get booked up fast I booked mine before I'd booked the church!!

Yep, there is a handy thread 2nd down on this forum which lists all the acronyms used in here like MOH (maid of honour) MIL2B (Mother-in-Law to be) etc etc

    Clicky here!

The best thing to do is get a venue and date set in stone and then look for a tog, but if you're planning a Summer '13 wedding then start looking for your tog as soon as your venue is booked as the good, well known ones are already filling up fast!

As for finding one there is a supplier list here on Hitched and you can search in your region and read the reviews, also a lot of people make a thread on here asking for recommendations in a certain area. A lot of the brides who have since married still post here and I would much rather start with personal recommendations than picking out 3 or 4 from a Google search!
