Welcome Amymay, there are quite a few of us on here that are 2014 brides, I'm getting hitched 1st March 2014 ?

So far booked church, venue, cars, Tog, men's suits, live band and caricaturist! So quite a bit really!!!

How are you getting along?

I can't believe how quick the time is going, when we chose the date it seemed ages away,but it's speeding thru! Mind I think having a count down ticker seems to make things go quicker!!! ? ?

I agree, i said to my partner lastnight at xmas our wedding will be 18 months away and that doesnt see that long lol....

will be 2015 brides by then prob aswell x

Me and H2B are all booked up for May 2014. So excited! Got engaged on our 5 year anniversary, getting married the day before our 7th anniversary so next year we'll be able to celebrate 6 years together, one year of engagement and one year before i wake up as a married woman.

Thanks, I'm now worried Iv only my venue booked ? lol. I really can't wait it seems like forever away. Oh and i'm getting married at the end of June.

I'm getting married in August 2014 but I'm going to wait until August before I officially book the venue so that it's covered by wedding insurance (they'll only cover for up to 2yrs before the wedding). But I've decided on a venue and they've confirmed that it's available on my chosen date ?

When are you all going to start shopping for 'the dress'? I'd like to try grab a bargain so may start looking as soon as the venue is booked but I'm worried that I'd buy a dress and then see something I like more closer to the time.

Also I plan on doing a lot of the decorations and stationary myself but I'm not sure when to start that either. I don't want to be stressed out rushing to get everything done in time but I'm also worried I'd get bored of the theme if I start too early. Arghhh!

I am a 2014 bride and so far we just have the church and nothing else. We're leaving the rest til later this year and then throughout 2013. Good luck and enjoy planning x

Hi amymay, me and my fiance have just set our date for 14th August 2014 and so I thought I have better join some groups on Hitched! I have just booked the venue and started to look at save the date ideas. We have a meeting with the vicar on Saturday to fill out some paperwork at the church, but that is all I have done. Plenty of things being added to my scrapbook for ideas but nothing else booked as of yet. How is your planning coming along? xx

I heard about this site through one of the 'younger' brides to be at work. I'm an older bride, are there any getting married in 2014 and over the 45 year mark on here ? I have bought my dress (bargain and couldn't resist) booked the venue and church this summer, chosen the menu and have the save the dates and invites already to go. Eager.....moi?? I've never had a white wedding and I'm so excited. It's going to be a small affair and the only thing that I'm a little worried about is the evening. We're getting married at 1630hrs on 16th August 2014 and the food won't be served until 1800hrs earliest and then what..... we can arrange some music to play on the hotel system but as it's a small affair no one will be dancing....so what to do? Any suggestions will be greatfully recieved ?

I'm getting married 24th August 2014 (any date twins?) I've booked the venue, have wedding insurance, booked videographer and photographer and started designing invitations. All so exciting but will soon be here!

Hi Amy, I wouldnt worry, as long as u have at least booked a venue, the rest can be done at ease nxt yr!.

Not a lot booked, only venue so far but have been doing lots of research and already have made up mind about wedding favours, evening entertainment and invitation styles etc. It's all very exciting and quite worried about what I will do with my spare time when I have no wedding stuff to research lol!

I'm May 2014 too, got engaged in February so in 9 months we have booked the venue, provisionally booked the registrars, bought some centrepiece baskets, bought an artificial bouquet & posey of daisies, made the save the date cards (not sent them yet though), booked my hair & makeup artist and we are meeting a possible photographer next week! eeeeek little things here and there all starts to come together! xxxxxxxxx

We got engaged two weeks ago and have decided on June 2014 for the wedding which will be our 5 year aniversary, I thought I had plenty of time to get things planned but by the looks of things I should get cracking on booking stuff up eeekk!

we have booked the venue, invitation and favour making lady, cake, dj, photographer and am going to start looking at dresses soon (need to be looking at costs for saving purposes)

I get married in May 2014 and I have weeks of being "wedding on the brain" then weeks where I dont bother so much! lol!

With 16months to go I have venue, registrar, rings, photographer & band booked. Got my first dress appointment next week then one booked for the month after that. Going to take my time on that one.

Cant believe how quickly time passes....when we got engaged there was 22months till the big day.

Hi Brides to be!! I've just booked my wedding for 29th November 2014. The venue is booked as too is the registrar. Been doing a lot of research so I know how I want everything and my colour scheme! Can't really do much more now though as it is still a while away!! Will soon be here though I'm sure

Hi, I'm all sorted now. OH is creating a wedding play list so I'm now leaving it all up to him, thank goodness. I'm all done now just alterations, rings and cake to buy, oh and all the deposits to pay this summer ?

After a bit of a slog, we provisionally booked our venue yesterday, for March 22 2014 - the relief was immense! That's all I've booked so far, seems like I'm behind the curve compared with some of you lot! One of my besties is getting married in August and has only booked a few things so I'm not feeling too stressed compared to her...

I'm also a 2014 bride, getting married in Vegas in April 2014 but not got the date booked for definite yet, although I know what date I want I need to wait until April so I know what's happening with my job and annual leave. I'm so anxious to get it all booked up though, been planning nearly every day since we got engaged (2 months ago!)

Booked church and reception venue, but realise I really need to book things in advance asap! Priorities are TOG and cars.

I really want a caricature but haven't come across any in South Yorkshire so far.

Thanks! We're doing Vegas so we specifically don't have to invite all the family, easiest way to keep it small! Plus you're pretty much guaranteed awesome weather

In answer to the original post, I have been taking booking for 2014 for over a year! Some people are super organised!

I'm a 2014 bride ? venue has been booked for nearly a year already! We have photographer, videographer, my wedding dress, suit hire, ice cream trike and save the dates already sorted ? there's quite a few of us on here and there's a Facebook group too, with nearly 200 members ?

I'm a 2014 bride with a pencilled in date of 15th June (H2B's birthday - at least he will never have to opportunity to forget our anniversary) ha. lol ?

Today I picked up my mum and we went to look at dresses for the first time. ? I found my 'perfect dress' back in Oct when we first got engaged but will need to travel 150 miles to try it on so we booked that last night (going down in 2 weeks) and conveniently a 4* spa hotel stay over! he he he. OH thought I was kidding, bless him.

We have found a photographer that we are keen to meet with but that's as far as we have got. Do need to start knuckling down now though as OH will be going to Afghan for 6 months in April and would like a few more things booked.

But the one thing I am adamant I don't want to do is get stressed and panicky and now take things easy as I want to enjoy every minute of it!!!
