Italy will be amazing! For me, our date didn't mean anything to us before we chose it. We knew it would be Feb and we picked a Saturday in it.

Congratulations, I'm trying to get my daughter to have her wedding in 2016 but looks like she might win and get it in 2015.

There were lots of factors that went into choosing my date. Firstly, for me it was about what flowers would be in season. I want tulips so narrowed down to an April / May wedding. Then I wanted a better chance of good weather and also my fiancé will be really busy with his job in April, so we chose May. Then it came down to which date both the church and reception venue had free!

Welcome and congratulations fellow 2016 bride ?. There's more and more 2016 brides popping up now. Well we decided on a summer wedding purely for the fact there is no football on, so we have a very small window as he said we need to go on honeymoon and be back before it all kicks off again (excuse the pun). Stick with it, it is all a bit daunting at first but i've found the lovely people on here have been very helpful and give some great advice. Is there any date that has a sentimental meaning to you (such like anniversary) that you could use? (Sorry if this isnt much help).

Congratulations. We got engaged at Christmas and are planning early 2015 (but secretly I also hate odd numbers, however I figure I'd better marry him soon before he realises what a terrible mistake he's made.... lol!) ? Good luck, I'd love to get married in Italy!

Phew! I am so glad that 1: someone else has had to wait as long as I had (10years) and 2: there are lots of us getting married in 2016 ! .

the date for us , was easy. I love the summer and plus I work term time and wanted to be able to get married and enjoy my honeymoon shortly after.

Does anyone come from Hertfordshire? Anyone working on a budget ?

Have you started looking at venue ? I'm overwhelmed , lol. I keep getting told I should be looking and picking a venue , then I've got people staying to wait until next year

Hello and welcome. I'm a 2016 bride too, we chose august 13th as I am a teacher so wanted the school summer holidays to leave plenty of time either side. 13th just because that's the number of our first house and also my OH is very anti-superstition.

I'm another 2016 bride too We're getting married the last weekend of January (Friday or Sunday, depending on prices once we choose a venue!)

Originally I wanted a December wedding because I love Christmas but a lot of our guests have kids, so we decided to have a Winter Wonderland theme and go for the end of January once everyone has been paid again so people can enjoy themselves and not worry about transport/drinks etc! xxx

Welcome to hitched :] I chose jan 16th as that was the first time we started "messaging" and since then we were inseparable, therefore it's a significant date for us :]

I'm also a 2016 B2B, want 1st of April, all my immediate family have been married on the first of the month, and I don't want a summer wedding. I really wanted to get married in 2015, but can't do my final year at uni (I'm a student nurse) and plan a wedding! My sister has already complained that the day I want is a Friday and her husband has to take a days leave, honestly, I've only been engaged a month and people are already trying to put their opinion in and try and get me to change my plans! I, too am a 2016 bride. Just a word of warning, the European Football tournament is being held in France in June 2016 so you may (or may not!) want to clash with that..... Not that I care, but we have a lot of family who do like their football so we picked a date before the tournament started.... hence 3rd June!! ?

Hello - Another 2016 bride here Planning for 11th September 2016. I feel like its ages away although people keep telling me it will come round soon! I cant stop looking at all sorts of ideas and locations. So many choices, so many things I want to buy. Am struggling with whens a good time to start booking places? How far in advance to things like bands, photographers, DJ's and everything else I need, need to be booked. We've got the church booked so thats one thing crossed of the list. Just need to find a venue now.

Hi everyone! We're getting married May 2016 :-). Hey Chantell I'm from Hertfordshire. Have you chosen your venue?

We chose our date as it's traditionally the warmest, driest , and least windy day of July, all of which is important as we are having an outdoor wedding. We never considered anything other than summer and August - September is full of festivals for us so July it was

I am 2016 bride as well.

I am working in a school so we had to go with summer holidays if we want to go away afterwards. So we went to all the venues asking for the end of July/early August and then just took what seemed most convenient. I would have loved to take a date that has a meaning but it really has to fit around the holidays so that wasn't really an option for the sort of wedding we are planning (I want to give myself enough time to get eerything ready beforehand as well).

We also have guests from abroad so we matched it with their holidays as well.
