I was just wondering if there were any 2018 brides or grooms out there! I was originally 2017 but we had to postpone so now we are 2018! So I thought I would start up a wee forum thread and get some names and dates added so we can start sharing ideas and pictures! January February March April - 21st...

Hi everyone, I've had a busy few days with wedding things... I've paid the deposit for our photographer, ordered my save the dates, paid our venue deposit and booked to go dress shopping in March. It's starting to get exciting!!!

How are you all doing? Has the new year boosted your wedding planning?

You'll have so much dress shopping!

I have already done everything I can booking wise, I need to sort my bridesmaid dress, I know which dress I would like to get for her but she's wanting to lose weight at the moment so i don't want to put pressure on her by buying the dress too early!

I've been looking into hen party stuff today, I think we're going to go to Bath for a weekend and doing a spa and some activities, If anyone has any recommendations of who to book with I would be grateful!

I hope everyones plans are going well!

My bridesmaids dress is already bought, she found one she loved and we didn't want to miss out on it.

Im terrified to start dress shopping! I'm hoping I can lose a bit of weight before I go.

Bath is lovely. I'm leaving my hen party to my bm but she did mention horse racing which would be lovely so I'll have to wait and see.

I'm worried I'm going to run out of wedding things to do if I keep booking stuff like I have been.

Once you start trying on the dresses you'll love it! I had no idea what I wanted and was surprised with which style dress I chose, I thought it was going to be so hard to choose but when I found the one I just new! Mine will be in in October I can't wait to try it on!

I ran out of wedding things last year as I had been so organised and booked everything well in advance but it was nice to know it was sorted, I can start making the invitations and things so I may make a start on them so that I feel i'm doing something!

Horse racing sounds great! My BM would sort everything but I like to know what i'm doing without the surprises so I will probably end up organising it!

    Hiiiii!

We are getting married on 14th July 2018! so excited!

I thought I was quite organised until I started reading this post haha! So far we have booked the venue, provisionally booked the registrar and we are taking to caterers. I cannot believe how much catering is though, we have 117 day guests and the caterers are asking for £9,500 (including standard expected alcohol)...nearly died. i am not having anything particularly fancy just your standard 3 course meal with sandwiches at night.

Think I am going to have to sell my soul for some food! Hows everyone elses catering priced up?

    Hi all,

I am getting married on 14th September 2018! So far we have the venue, catering, DJ, photographer and videographer booked. Have a couple of appointments with florists next weekend so hopefully will get one of them booked in by the end of this month! Hoping to send out save the dates in September, and then the invitations in Spring time next year.

Quite surprised how quickly suppliers get booked up, I have been turned down by 2 photographers and entertainers already...hence why I am now trying to bang down deposits on everything to get the date secured!

Was thinking of hiring a magician for the wedding, although our photographer suggested getting a caricaturist (apparently from his wedding experience, guests seem to enjoy them more) - any recommendations?

Hope everyone is enjoying their wedding planning xx

Ouch, I would cry at that! We're still looking for a reception venue but all the prices we've been given is between £2100-£4000 for day guests but that's for 68 guests, in the night we would like to hire a fish and chip van or burger van which has been priced at £500-£900 for 100 guests, but we're struggling to find a venue that will allow us to provide our own food in the evening x

Our wedding date is 5th November 2018 (yes, Bonfire night!)

We have booked a winter wedding package at the beautiful Rowton Castle in Shrewsbury. This includes our ceremony, reception, catering and accommodation for us and our guests on the night of the big day! Our photographer is also booked and we are now starting to look at booking an entertainer for the evening.

I cannot wait to start trying on dresses as i have seen loads of beautiful ones online and I have bought my shoes this week!

I am really making the most of Pinterest for inspiration Smiley smile

    I'm September 2018!

We haven't got a date set in stone yet, but I'm going to look at a venue in February. We're both nurses so thinking of having it during the week to try and save a bit of money as we're on quite a tight budget.

Anyone else trying to plan a comparatively 'cheap' wedding? (I say cheap, £7-£8k is not cheap for me!!!) It all seems like a bit of a an uphill struggle at the moment, but think that is due to the fact that h2b's father is terminally ill so we're all feeling a bit miserable at the moment.

Ho hum, trying to wedding plan to give us something to look forward to!

    Hi All!!!

    Getting married 01.09.18

Just wondered how you are all getting on? I am finding it exciting but a little overwhelming at times ha ha

    So far booked;

Venue (have to have their decorators/caterers so not too worried at this stage)

    String Quartet

    Cake

    Magician

    Hair & Make-up

Almost there with photographer down to two and just need DJ then it's down the finer details dresses etc etc what has surprised me most is how quickly things get booked up!!! Booked my dream cake maker back in October and he had just taken a booking for the same date!

    Ker xx

Hi! I'll be getting married 19th May 2018! Add me to the list!!

We were originally planning 2017, but house buying and job changes for the both of us has meant anything wedding-related got put on hold. Since the new year, I've actually started doing some proper planning/researching! The venue is decided, but not yet booked, and the wedding website is almost ready to be revealed.

    Welcome everyone new!

Hopefully Tigsy will come back on and add your names to the thread!

Can't believe that we can say we're getting married next year!

I've been very organised with my planning and had alot of things sorted last year but I have recently sorted my Bridesmaid dress and flower girl dress so that's another thing off the list!

My dress will be in in October so still abit to go but can't wait to try it on!

We booked our engagement photo shoot booked for August and we're doing it in the gardens of our wedding venue as they are stunning and if we do get unfortunate weather on the day at least we will have some photos in the gardens!

I hope everyones plans are coming along nicely and look forward to reading about them!

You are super organised! Im getting there slowly but have another family wedding this year so trying to be low key until that one is done.

Im going dress shopping on Saturday so starting to get really excited. I keep showing my OH pictures of massive ball gowns which he hates... so im almost certain this is what I will fall in Love with... typical!

Iam super organised! I'm always told that in life in general!

You'll love going dress shopping, it's such an amazing feeling when you find the one! I had no idea what type of dress I wanted and thought i'd hate everything on but I could of got away with lots of styles which was surprising to me! I have gone for the opposite of what I thought I would! When you find the one you'll look amazing in it and even if it is a ball gown once your OH sees you in your dress he will be blown away, the dresses always look better on real life brides than on the models so he will have no idea how the dress would look on you so I wouldn't worry too much just go for whatever you love!

Good luck! Let us know how you get on!

    Welcome!

The time will go quicker than you think it will! I started planning with over two years to go and now we're almost a year away and that time has gone so quick!

The best thing about having lots of time is that you can take your time and enjoy the planning! Just look at as many venues and as you and you'll get a feel for what you want!
