Congratulations! I'm getting married in Baddow Park just outside of Chelmsford, it's a lovely country mansion and it's someone's actual house but it's licensed for weddings. If you're having a small wedding you can have the whole wedding in the house, otherwise you can have a marquee in the gardens. The owner is lovely, and the packages are very reasonable.

Congratulations !!! I'm a second timer as well ..... It's still exciting and i can not wait to eat married again !!!! We want a laid back day but still with a bit of sparkle ... Look forward to heading your plans. We are venue hunting in Dorset without big budget and it's proving a teeny bit tricky but I'm sure we'll get there as I'm sure you will to.

    Welcome! ?

I haven't visited any of these places yet but Mersea Island Winery looks lovely and also the Granary in Sudbury (slightly outside essex) looks beautiful but it depends on your numbers.

In fact there are loads of great wedding venues in Essex but it depends on your budget/guest numbers/specific location!
