NorthumberlandBride

2nd week at WW

NorthumberlandBride, 31 October, 2011 at 17:39 Posted on Beauty & Wellbeing 0 17

I didnt realise this bit of the forum existed!

this is my 2nd week at weight watchers. ive now lost 4lbs which i dont think is bad going. its my period week too and i tend to be heavier so i feel like im cooking on gas now. I'm planning to lose half a stone a month so i think i can lose 7 stone (at least 5 stone) which would bring me down to 11stone or so which will still make me curvy, but still looverly!

i dont wanna be a wide bride lol

Hey girls! I never knew this forum existed either!!

Well done for doing so well in losing your lbs! Very impressed! ?

I'm seriously considering going back to WW but am scared about the new system. I tried to get my head round it earlier in the year when H2B got the starter pack and calculator off eBay for me. I tried and tried to understand it but in the end I went back to the old system. I did lose some lbs but I got complacent (as I always do!) and the lbs are creeping back on again.

Do you girls think this new system is easier and should I bite the bullet and actually join as opposed to doing it on my own? Be scared into losing weight?

    xx

    Hi!

I joined WW 2 weeks ago too and it's great to hear of all the success stories - gives me hope! I would like to lose 2 - 2.5 stone before my wedding in August next year so I think that it will be do-able.

Re the new system - as I've only just joined I'm not sure what the "old" system was but I can say that ProPoints is easy to follow - I have 29 points a day plus everyone gets 49 weekly points to use too which is great. I'd say go along to your local meeting, it really helped me to speak to the leader and everyone is so supportive - beats just signing up online in my opinion - but do go for it - you've nothing to lose (no pun intended!)

    Hi all,

I've lost 25lbs since I started WW in May. In the beginning I was working really hard and losing 2-3lbs a week. It's slowed down a lot now though because I've layed off a bit. I'm not following the plan completely so at the moment I'm gaining one week, losing the next.

Keep it up though guys Smiley laugh xxx

It's easy to get downhearted when you don't hit the target you've set yourself but it's dangerous for a number of reasons. YOu still had a loss right? and this is what you want, and its what none of us were doing before we started ww. so the programme is working. If you don't accept that then the danger is that you get frustrated, say sod it, and eat whatever you want. So try - and I know how hard it is - to stay calm and remember that you are doing well. The slower weight comes off the longer it stays off.

    Hi there

I have started ww myself and its great fun. In near enough a month i have lost a stone in weight and sort of proud of myself in a way, i didnt expect to loose anything much straight away but i did. I am on this diet cos of this wedding as i am a bigish sort of girl i want to loose about 5 stone before my wedding in 2016. I know its a bit far off but its nice to plan away and save up the money as me and my partner dont work at all and at the minute we are living off benefits and with two kids its not easy....

Hope you loose the amount that you want to for your big day

    *wave* from another WW'er!!

I did the old plan last year, but MUCH prefer the new plan. I hated the fact that on the old plan I already had quite a low number of pts per day (18) and some fruit and veg weren't free (ie bananas). A) I would choose crisps over a banana because it was the same points, and B) I struggled to save points for a night out.

I love that with the new plan, your daily points are your daily points - use 'em or lose 'em. You get plenty to use, I'm never hungry. Then the weeklies are there if you want a treat or a night out etc. I try not to use any points earned through activity, that seems to give me better losses.

After years of yoyo dieting my head finally seems to have got itself into the mindset of this being a marathon not a sprint. The weight is coming off gradually, but weeks in and I'm still going to class, I'm still weighing in and I'm still focussed.

Yep - I really like the new plan Smiley smile

    Hi

I joined slimming world last Tuesday, and I have my first weigh in in wo days time.

I always thought that a fiver a week to weigh myself was too much, but I have followed the diet for 5 days so far, and that is the longest that I have ever followed a diet. It has helped that my mum and cousin also attend SW so I can ask them for advice, but I have to say that I think it is doing me good, and I have failed (cheated) at every other diet that I have done before.

The only thing I can complain about is that I am spending a fortune on fresh fruit and veg, but I hope that when we go back to work on Tuesday, I won't be spending so much :-)

Good luck though with whatever you do! xxx

I started WW online last week and really like it so far - much easier than some of the diets I have tried before. I like the fact I can still eat what I like but not so much!!

    Good morning hitchers!!

I am about rejoin WW tomorrow and was going to go to the meetings. I have been successful before at meetings although I was a lot younger then and hardly ever drank. Anyway, I am now in two minds as to joining online or go to the meetings. For me I think "humiliating" myself at weigh-in would push me to be good whereas online I would only be kdding myself!

When you join online, what happens on your weigh-in day? Do you weigh yourself and input you new weight on your profile or do you have to attend a class?

Well done to you all for losing and starting the New Year healthy and positive. Keep up the good work!

    xx
