3 rings??

loopy_linzi003, 19 October, 2013 at 18:20 Posted on Planning 0 34

Torn between 3 rings and 3 people's opinion. I know it doesn't matter what other people think but..... I love 1, h2b loves a different 1 and my mum loves tthe other. What do you think everyone?

I like number 1 the best, and then number 3.

Im afraid I don't like 2 at all. It overpowers your ER.

Exactly this, maybe because mine are similar to 1, although white gold.

Loopy, I had a WR pretty much the same as the one in pic 2 and I ended up getting a new one after 6 months as it was just "too much" hence my comment earlier. They are uncannily similar.

The third one is nicest imo, I agree with Mini about the second one overpowering your engagement ring.

like said previously it overpowers your engagement ring and just looks a bit too much!

No idea why the wedding ring should be overpowered by the engagement ring when surly the wedding ring is more important ?

the wedding ring should stand up to the same standard at least imho and to be honest I think with a solitaire ring adding extra detail isnt too ott - the slight curve compliments it better as the diamond is larger than the band... have you considered a band with detail but not diamonds?

    sort of like:

sorry I know they're not the right colour etc... just a quick search of result of detailed rings

I have tried my mums which is patterned with hearts but we weren't keen on it. I love the 2nd 1 but I think maybe that's just because it has the diamonds and I love diamonds although not too much bling as my fingers are quite long and thin. My h2b loves the last ring and my mum loves the plain wedding band. Hard work lol x

I prefer 1st best Smiley smile
Agree with those who think if engagement ring has a lot of detail it can look a bit too much Smiley smile

I think they should compliment each other and of course be of the same standard. IMO that ER is classic and the WR is too in your face and cheapens it hence the overpowering. There is such a thing as too much bling.

The third one you posted is beautiful and would suit the ER brilliantly in my cabbage.

I like the middle one! Adds some bling, think the other 2 are quite plain. The 2nd one compliments your engagement ring x

For me I don't think the second ring sits well with your ER, and I think Mini's post shows how much nicer a plain band can look. 1 and 3 are both lovely though.

This. I think the first one looks the best and the third one is nice too, but the second one is far too much bling and I don't think the two rings really go either.

Completely agree with the majority... Number one by fair my favourite, number three nice.

Number two doesn't look right at all, IMO.

If the wedding ring stands up to the same standard as the ER, they're just going to clash. IMO anyway!

The way I see it, I only wear my ER on special occasions/weekends whereas I wear my WR everyday so I wanted it to be plain (I work with food) I tried on rings with a bit of sparkle and they didn't look right as my ER diamond is quite small.

I went for plain too. I tried on sparkly ones and they looked a bit daft with my ring.

I think No.1 is the best, apart from anything else it sits next to your ER better than the other 2. I don't necessarily think you have to go plain to avoid overshadowing an ER but it needs to compliment it style-wise and fit and I just don't think 2 or 3 do that with your ring. I will try and flash mine as I have gone blingy! Apologies if pic is enormous!

    I like 1 and 3

I would look at small princess cuts instead of rounds, or baguettes (rectangular) as they would work better with your ER. 3 is good as it fits better around the setting of the ER, but the simplicity of 1 is nice Smiley smile

I've looked for princess cut but I can't find 1 that fits well. I had my heart set on 1 like this below but it looked way too much and didn't sit with my ER :-( x
