3 weeks to go & I'm not excited

nicky167, 16 August, 2009 at 08:31 Posted on Planning 0 15

Or nervous or anything really. What's wrong with me? ? We're pretty much organised, so I don't think it's that I've got loads to do before I can finally feel excited about it!

Me neither and I've got 6 days to go. I'm thinking it will probably kick in more when I finish work on Wednesday.

Me neither... lots of people saying you must be excited, 13 days to go and I don't think I really realise how close it is.

Also can't imagine it either, can you?

Thanks all, I feel a bit better now, knowing I'm not the only one who's felt like this.

I don't think I got the pre-excitement everyone talks about (well, some people talk about) at all tbh!

For the overseas bit cos I was on my own (ie no family/friends) there wasn't the usual 'buzz' around anyhow and all I remember is huge nerves and a sudden realisation I was getting married (which was a seriously profound moment, let me tell you - better than any feeling of excitement!) .... but then as soon as I saw Mr SP it all changed and whilst 'excitement' as in wanting to jump and down and run round the room with my tshirt over my head isnt the right descriptive, it and I and everything felt amazing.

For the UK bit I was soooo crazy for the 2 days we had post-return from overseas I didn't have time to be anything other than 'waaaaah' but in a good way. Folk arriving, things to pick up, last min things to organise, hotel mgrs to boss around ? ... and I was super nervous all over again as this time it was the walk down the aisle thing (and I was nervous the whole way down too!) ... but again, suddenly it all just feels right and you just feel marvellous...

So, like those who don't get 'THE dress' moment, don't let lack of "excitement" worry you!

I wasn't excited either and the total opposite and I was well and truly bored of waiting and bored of everyone saying 'oh you must be excited now'.

I wasn't even excited a few days beforehand and the morning itself felt like an outer body experience and I swear it wasn't really me getting my hair and make up done. It only hit me when the car arrived and then again walking towards the ceremony room where I fell to pieces. I refused to believe just how much I fell to pieces but one of my friends captured me on camera and I look like I'm just about to be killed by the most horrific method! Not a pleasant photo at all and I'd share it for the entertainment factor but it is really that bad I don't want to see it again.

Isnt it weird, it seems like all us 'nearly' brides feel the same, every now and then i will get a teeny wave of something but not excitement just happiness but mainly i just feel weird about it. I do remember moving home in Jan and had the same comments about being excited, bet you cant wait etc and i didnt feel like that at all until two days before when it finally hit me and i got excited! so i think it will hit us all like a bolt nearer the time x

I'm having moments of excitement but overall still just "normal", with 2.5 weeks to go. I think once I stop work it'll help, cos at the moment I'm counting down to next Thursday instead of the wedding.

Its 5 days now for me, and I have to say I am fine or I believe I am fine. But I do now believe the nerves are kicking in. Everyone says I am quite, even at the gym they noticed it last week. My mum said I looked like I wanted to cry last night. I think I am tired more than anything all this planning and organising for everyone to enjoy. But we tire ourselfs out for it. I am excited about h2b's wife, but a little scared and anxious about walking down the aisle and everyone staring at me and being the centre of attention. Then thinking do they think I look nice etc..

Had the worst wedding yet on Saturday night, scary lol

Me too! I am dreading walking up the aisle and everyone thinking "Yuck I don't like her dress, she looks really fat, look at her bingo wings etc etc"...I need to get over myself because it's actually stopping me looking forward to it!
