Yeah running causes it, never happened before though, I thought I'd got lucky with my running shoes.

I lost a few nails when marathon training and the bad news is that they took months to grow back (mine were the big toe nails though, so probably needed longer). There is no way it will grow back in 30 days.

The good news though is that underneath you probably have a softer, kind of rudimentary nail. I did and I just put nail varnish on it as per usual ?

Don´t worry, it´ll be fine! Worst case scenario, you can always glue a false finger nail onto it for the day!

You can get proper false toenails too! Or get a pedi and acrylics put on all of them to protect them while running/re-growing.

Where do you get false toenails from? Only ever seen finger nail ones.

Surely if you have no nail there will be nothing fo ryou to glue the false nail onto? dont want to be gluing it to skin, especially not damaged skin. wouldnt that also stop the healing process?

I ripped off one of my fingernails on honeymoon (caught the extension part - ouch!) - this took a while to come back properly, maybe a few months?

I have also lost a couple of toenails through wearing bad shoes but these didn't seem to take as long, my toenails seem to grow faster than the fingernails.

If it is only for one day I would second the false toenail for the photos, then take it off as soon as possible to allow the nail to heal properly.
