39 days to go & I've been let down arrrrghh!

MrsHappilyEverAfter, 23 April, 2013 at 20:22 Posted on Planning 0 4

Sorry eveyone huge rant on the way .... just found out today in the space of 2 hours that -

a) H2B has been to pay the venue after months of rubbish contact from them and when I looked at the receipt they've got the time wrong by 3 hours!!!! and now we can't get in touch with them ...

b) H2B asked his other brother to be a bestman a few months ago (now having 2 brothers) and we've sorted out his extra suit and bestman gifts and ive now found out he can't even come to the wedding, something about working way .... (he works 6 weeks on and 6 weeks off in europe - THROUGH CHOICE.) So annoyed.

c) The DJ has cancelled .... its a family friend of dad who dad had booked. Now going to have to book someone else last minute and most likely pay out for it too as dad wont be able to afford anything expensive.

grrrrrr!!! All came in one go.. nice big glass of wine for me tonight.

    Oh! Bow-locks.

Sorry to hear this. You'll get your pants on over your tights, tie your cape and Super-Bride will figure a way through these things. Let us know how it goes.

Oh no! If one thing happens, lots more problems seem to come at the same time! Typical.

Sounds like your venue haven't been great with contact from the start? Maybe popping in will make a difference, refusing to leave until it's sorted (in a nice way obviously)

Big nuisance that you have paid out for the best man's suit but my OH was in a similar situation last year. His brother got married abroad which we all went to and they had a reception back home a few weeks later, my OH couldn't go as he works offshore in Africa 5 on and 5 off, the only way he would get to be home for something is if he works away longer and home for a shorter amount of time, (6 weeks away, 3 weeks home, 6 weeks away) but that is only if a colleague is prepared to do the same with him. I do think he should of told you and your OH. With only 39 days to go, he would of known he was away working on your date. I have worked out my OH December rotas for two years in advance! (For Christmas)

I don't really have any advice for you just wanted to say deep breaths and pour a very large wine!!
